If You Ran the Emmys

Dear Academy of Television Arts & Sciences,
Well, here we are. Another television season is now behind us, another awards ceremony celebrating its best shows and stars is around the corner. But you still continue to disappoint. How can you live with yourself after snubbing Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls AGAIN?! Why are you always honoring the same shows year after year, even though you supposedly instituted a new voting system this time around?
However, we do appreciate your recognition of programs such as Supernatural, Smallville and Everybody Hates Chris (see full list of primetime nominees here). Hopefully in the future you will give these and other fan favorites the full attention they deserve.
Yours truly,
The CW Source
Are you going to watch this Sunday's Emmy Awards? If you ran the Emmys, who would you pick as Best Actor, Actress, or Outstanding Series?
Comments
I know I'm two years late, but several of these's shows and actors do need more recognition than in the technical category.
I think the GG's were fair for nominating Reba McEntire and Lauren Graham a few years ago. But then that was it. It goes to show how superficial the emmy's are. I've seen countless episode-after-episode of Two and 1/2 men, and Sheen and Cryer are just average talent. No question about it. Now, its just sound mixing and editing for Smallville and Supernatural. If only one show, just one, got a nod in the Drama/Comedy series category, the ratings would probably boost by 17-23% for the network.

THE ACADEMY SHOULD LOOK AT WHAT THIS SHOW REALLY TEACHES. THE RESPECT AND HUMOR BETWEEN FAMILIES. AS A SINGLE MOTHER THERE ARE NOT MANY SHOWS THAT YOU CAN ENJOY WITH OURS DAUGTHERS THAT MAKE US BOTH LAUGH AND TEACH THEM LESSIONS ABOUT LIFE. THE ACADEMY SHOULD SERIOUSLY LOOK NEXT YEAR TO NOMINATE BOTH LAURA AND ALEXIS, AS WELL AS THE SHOW AND CAST FOR THEIR GREAT WORK. I HOPE IT NEVERS ENDS.
A DISAPPOINTED FAN IN THE ACADEMY.

yep there are certainly some CW stars who deserve and Emmy nod. Jensen Ackles and Kristen Bell top my list.

haha great picture of JPad to go with the article. it's like he's all "you didn't give Supernatural an emmy, so now I'm gonna melt your brain with my psychic powers, grrrr!" ahahah

I totally agree that the Emmys are all about ratings and really nothing else. If it were quality, Lauren Graham would've been awarded long ago, Jensen Ackles would've most certainly been nominated, along with Kristen Bell. And Supernatural should've taken over the Best Dramatic Series category. The Emmys really need to start judging fairly...

Kristen Bell. Jason Dohring.

Although I think Lauren Graham is a good actress and deserved an Emmy nomination during seasons 1-5, the episode she submitted (Partings) was not her best work for the season. She chose the wrong one to submit for the comedic category.
The writers gave us overly (read soapish) dramatic stories during Season 6 and that is why Lauren Graham was not nominated. In order to get nominated in the comedy category, you must submit comedy material and that was not done.

I definitely think Veronica Mars should have been nominated for writing and for best series (along with Kristen Bell as best actress and Enrico Colantoni and Jason Dohring vying for best supporting actor).
That's two years running that the Emmys have let me down!

Tom Welling should have been nominated as best TV actor. His work in Smallville Season 5 was awesome. SV has been unfairly overlooked over the years.

Well, I'm watching the Emmys, but I think Allison Mack, Jensen Ackles and Tom Welling should have been nominated!!!
Allison, as always, gave everything as Chloe Sullivan and is just great!!.
Jensen and Tom... well they are just gorgeous and good actors... I'll love to see them in the Emmys... just 'cause ;).

Allison Mack for Best Actress
Jensen Ackles/Michael Rosenbaum for Best Actor
Best Show: Supernatural

Ackles should have at least gotten a nom for that amazingly intense stuff in Devils Trap. Padelecki was good too, but man, Ackles rocked the hell out of that!

I'm a huge A-Mack fan. She's the only one on the The CW who can actually act. I hope to see her go on and garner some industry recognition after her Smallville stint is over.

It does suck that the Emmys continually snub amazingly talented actors/actresses just because they happen to be on WB/CW shows.
I think for Best Actress, if the CW/WB would actually RECOGNIZE this fantastic actress as LEADING LADY status, that would be the first step, the show does (she had way more screentime than the current "lead actress")... it would be Allison Mack of Smallville. She's hands down the most talented one on that show.
I also think that Lauren Graham needs to freaking get nominated one of these days too.
Outstanding Series? I'd give that one to Supernatural.

Sorry guys, but Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls really isn't as funny as most people think. Emmys should not be awarded to people who can professionally talk fast. It should be about acting. I'm glad she keeps getting snubbed.

haha I always wondered if we could somehow get the Emmys to recognize WB talent. For best actress, I would LOVE if Allison Mack got nominated.
Best Actor Michael Rosenbaum for sure or John Glover.

I think quite a few of the shows here need recognition and not just for "music" like a certain favorite show of mine has been. ( How much "music" is really on that show..... Yah Dean & I will be in the Impala with some BOC when ya figure it out) Lauren is a perfect example, Supernatural is another; there is more to TV than just the "3 big". I barely watch anything on those channels anymore.

Clearly, the Emmy Awards are based on ratings and back room deals. Were that not so, Jensen Ackles would be given the recognition he deserves. He's the finest actor in the country.

Supernatural needs some recognition already. I'm so tired of this wonderful show being overlooked!

LOL - Finally some love for the Padalecki! He was feeling very left out with all the Jensen photos on this blog.

I have no intention of watching the emmy's this year.
I think they should have nominated Gilmore Girls
and of course Lauren Graham. Gilmore Girls has
both comedy and drama and is an excellent show. And
Lauren shows that she can act in comedy and drama situations and is very believable. So, I will no longer watch
the emmy's, at least not until they recognize the other well diserving shows on networks other than ABC,NBC,and CBS.
