I think John was a very valuable addition to the show, and had many more stories to tell, and things to contribute. What a waste of a perfectly good character, not to mention one of the sexiest actors on TV right now. Look at the demographics involved for one thing. There are young guys like Jared and Jensen on MANY shows, and teenaged girls and 20-somethings have plenty of choice for "stud-muffin of the week" How many MEN are on TV: men that appeal to 30+ WOMEN? I can count them on one hand, and J.D.Morgan is at the top of the bunch. There's enough of us women out here to make a pretty big dent in the ratings one way or the other.
And I'm pretty mad at Mr. K. for burning the body so that John couldn't come back?? Not good. Not good at ALL.
Even if he had to go to put the focus more on the boys, I can't see why he couldn't have been granted some measure of peace, if not happiness before he died.
I miss John. I miss J.D. Morgan as John. I'll still watch the show, but for me something is missing...something called heart.

If Kripke doesn't find a way to keep JDm as at least a semi regular I know someone who will find some very angry women at his door demanding answers. Shonda Rimes new show is about female reporters which means at best JDM will have a small secondary part. Nobody had Ms. Rimes met him? That boy ain't secondary. Grey's was and still is lame and the only thing good about it was JDM. Supernatural thoguh seems like the perfect fit since he, Ackles and Padalecki get along so well. He said it himself, "We're like three idiot brothers and when it comes for them to start calling me dad we break up in giggles. Jared is the biggest giggler I've ever known." The boys met as hunters and brothers but dad puts in that oh so explosive father to son and then there is mentor to student since he trained the boys. On top of that there is his issues with the demon and how they figure in to protecting his boys. He begged his son to kill him so the boys would be safe because the demon would die with him. Every about John is getting justice for a wife he's never forgotten, for the children that he loves and revenge for the pain the demon's caused. On top of that he's a tough marine, a softie who cries easily if not often and an honorable man more then willing to admit when he screwed up and apologize. Top it off with Sexy eyes, a smile that makes a girl melt and lips that could turn a simple kiss into an erotic art form and damn but it's good. Ackles and Padalecki have good chemistry but even I have to admit the tension skyrockets in the eps John aka JDM is in. Kripke no lame flashbacks or ghostly visits. That is so passe and been done so often it's dead. Give John dignity and leaev him dead if you can't bring him back to his boys and the fans that love him alive and well.

When Denny dies on Grey's...Grey's died for me. I don't watch it anymore. What crazy person actually decided to kill of not only the best looking character on Grey's but the best actor as well. I think Patrick Dempsey is McYucky in comparison to JDM. Denny gave Izzie a heart, soul, and personality....other than her relationship with him, she just ran around screwing, drinking, and whinning. The creators of Greys sure know how to kill off the audience as well as Denny. Here's to Jeffrey Dean Morgan making it really BIG....after all of the bits parts he has been in and I'm sure after all of the hard work over the years he really deserves to be an "overnight success". The TV genre needs more "real" people who have paid their dues in their profession like JDM has. Although I work hard too...I look for anything that JDM is in and look forward to his appearances with a fervor that I only felt whwn I was a teen. I'm plugging for you Jeffrey....I see plenty of Emmys in your future.

I must say, all of my friends know that JDM is pretty much my favorite of the three Supernatural Men. Don't get me wrong, love Jensen and Jared but to me there is something just WOW about Jeff. He's pretty hot too! haha. So yeah my friends all know if I had to choose between Jensen, Jared, or Jeffrey, I'd choose Jeffrey.

Personally, though Jensen and Jared are cute boys, I'll take JDM any day.

Same with Dean and Sam. I'd much prefer John.

And as for the dynamic changing when John is around, yes it certainly does. For the better.

John is a much more interesting character, a deeper and more complex person. I was hoping for a couple of stand alone John episodes this season, but I guess that Kripe & Co. won't oblige.

I'm going to miss JDM as John this season, and even though I hope Jeff's new show with Shonda R. works out and becomes a major smash for him, I will always have a soft spot for him as John Winchester; hunter, father, good friend, bad enemy and tall, rumpled sex-god all rolled into one.

I love J&J but the show is nothing without daddy Winchester.

OMG JDM is to DIE for! He's hot. I love him as daddy Winchester and I hope he's in a bunch of episodes! But Ihave to stay true to Dean ;-)

I like JDM as well. Does anybody realize that Grey's Anatomy and Supernatural are on at the same time on Thursdays? (at least here in Chicago) Maybe that is the reason why JDM is no longer on Grey. I hope he stays on Supernatural!

I forgot to add that dude's pretty seriously hot too!

I love JDM as Daddy Winchester. He has great chemistry with the J's. I hope he survives to make a few guest appearances because his story isn't nearly done yet... too many issues left to work out between him and his boys.

He's awesome and darn well cast because he manages to sound a lot like Jensen Ackles in line delivery and pacing and they look like they're related.

Some people really don't like John, but he has to survive the crash because his story isn't done yet. The character is there to be a tension point in the relationship between Sam and Dean, and so won't be 'liked' by many, because of how effective the character is in providing the tension.

One criticism of John I've heard is that he seems weak in the finale compared to all the 'big bad John Winchester' build up during the series. But think about it. He's just spent several months chasing the Demon around and trying and failing despite his best efforts to save other families from the same fate as his. He'd be emotionally exhausted. I think JDM did a really good job of portraying a hardened, tough man so beat down by circumstances that he can't muster the energy for much except completeing the quest he undertook twenty years ago and maybe finally finding some kind of peace.

He's kinda hot too I guess in a big ol' cuddly fuzzy bear kind of way. That grin just slays me every single time. I'd buy a bridge off him.

Dude, you can give me all three of the Winchesters. JDM looks good. He was adorable in Grey's (and very sad), love him in Weeds. We need Papa Winchester!

Lily - I second that. I dropped Grey's when he left and I can't wait for the new season of Supernatural. At least we get some JDM before he heads over to the new show. *sigh* I hope he can do lots of guest spots!

I have to say, I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan- he's amazing. I'm with the last post- I'm outting Grey's because they killed him. It's so sad, he was my favorite character and the ONLY reason I got hooked. Out with the show, and plus it doesn't help that they moved to the same time as Supernatural...

As for Papa Winchester... at first I was like kill him get him off. The fact of the matter is I LOVE JDM , but I know someone said it- he totally changes the dynamics between the boys. But I love JDM and John's growing on me, so bring him back. Either way ;D

I love him... I loved him on Grey's and I love him on Supernatural, I hope he survies and makes continued apperances on Supernatural!

Yay for featuring JDM! I was a little iffy on whether I wanted Daddy Winchester to live, because he changes the dynamic between Sam and Dean so much, but having rewatched the later episodes more lately, I've grown very fond of John/Jeff and hope he survives! I just don't want him to become a series regular. But I adore him to bits. He's such a sweetie. :)

We need JDM on Supernatural. I adore J&J, but without Jeffrey it won't be the same! Eric better come up with a way good plan if he kills off John!

Supernatural is a great show. None of the guys should die. Jeff is a good looking guy and a great actor. He is an asset to the show. Good luck to all for another great season.

Good ol' Jeffy Dean... What a guy. Although the picture above makes him look more like a JIMMY Dean, he seems to be even MORE popular than the famous cooking sausage he resembles... (porker, sausage, fatty... get it?)

All joking aside, his recent acting breaks have been numerous as well as popular! I can't think of a single person who didn't shed a tear when he died in Grey's season finale. Ah, the memories we made with him. The way he portays a character is so real and relateable. He truely is a great actor. Can't wait to see what how he develops his characters in the future!

JDM is a great addition to the Supernatural cast. And it's so great that he's finally getting the attention he deserves. I hope he gets that new TV show, but I also hope we haven't seen the last of Papa Winchester.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is my kind of attractive. When Grey's got rid of his character, I got rid of Grey's. Who am I supposed to keep watching for? Dr. McSleazy and Meredith the wimp? I don't think so.

Here's to hoping his new series is picked up, because he deserves it, and that he'll be making as many appearances on Supernatural as possible--be Papa Winchester alive or dead. We need more unshaven, manly looking men on the network. Not everyone's into waxed chests.
