Top Model fans, we just received word that you'll have the chance to enjoy highlights from the British cycles in December! You'll have two chances to watch each round. Judges include ex-supermodel Lisa Butcher, model Marie Helvin and hair/make-up agency owner Jonathan Phang, who critique and guide twelve aspiring models from all over the U.K. Get the full scoop on our Top Model page.
The two-hour special Next Top Model: British Invasion 1 will air Wednesday, December 13, and Sunday, December 17 at 8/7c.
Then catch the two-hour special Next Top Model: British Invasion 2 on Wednesday, December 20, and Sunday, December 24 at 8/7c.
Can the British babes bring on the drama, catfights and tears like the Americans? We're about to find out...
Random tidbit: Did y'all know that there are 15 local versions of Top Model around the world, including Britain, Australia, Germany, Russia, China, Canada, France, Hungary, Czech Republic, Holland, Philippines, Thailand, Norway, Turkey and Brazil? Anyone watch in any of those countries? We'd love to hear what your country's Top Model is like -- and how it compares to Tyra's original.

philippines' next top model will start here by mid 2007. We won't have a crazy super model for a host but we'll have this ruffa gutterez - a former beauty queen as a host. She doesn't talk rubbish or anything and she's too refined and to, i wish this version would have more originality...

ANTM can't compare to the the international versions. their more innovative (specially Australia) and "high fahion-esque". some of cycle 7's photoshoots were imitated from Australia's and Holland's versions. but ANTM is still best in drama =]

Ummm. I don't know about this version of top model. I honestly don't thik this version is gonna do nearly as well as the American version. Well, hey I havent seen it yet sooo I might be WRONG. we will c lol

Watching the British Top Model was hard on my eyes. Production values weren't up to snuff. Do they utilize the same technology? The lighting was horrible! Who dares say that other countries always do it better than the US?

Australia's Next Top Model (season 2) is by far the BEST of all the versions out there.
The UK one was pretty bad. Their photoshoots were cheap.

I've sen Britain's Next Top Model, Canada's Next top Model, Australia's Next Top Model, and of course the original - America's Next Top Model.
Let me just tell you, Britain Next Top Model is OK, but definitly not as good as America.
Canada's Next top Model - Lots of drama, great ideas for photoshoots, but the execution was usually terrible. The girl who won quit modelling 5 months later to study dentistry - shameful.
But Mr. Jay is hosting the next cycle of Canada's Next Top Model, so I know that this time around there's going to amazing models AND amazing photoshoots. Can't wait.
The best out of the four versions I've seen is definitly Australia's Next Top Model - especially Cycle 2. Those girls are AMAZING. They are on a totally different level - much more high fashion, with beautiful editorial shoots and looks - and a fair bit of drama too. The production obviously isn't as good as America's but the girls, the photoshoots and the drama more than make up for it. Australia takes the cake - Tyra's original can't even hold a candle to the copycat.
But I'm happy they're playing BNTM - I LURVE British accents.

Well, Pillow, I almost agree with you, except for one thing. I don't think Pop Idol in the UK can top American Idol over here!
As for the models, well, I think anything's cooler with an accent, so I'll definitely be watching to see who gets "spots" and who tries to "snog" the male models.

This is definitely good news. Unfortunately, we'll all see the British version is waaaay better than the U.S. version. Our friends overseas always do everything better than us. Not have crazy Tyra is one example.
Also, happy holidays. And even if you don't celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hannakuh or Festivus, have a good December. I have a feeling 2007 is going to be good...
