I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. Dean and Sam are these great good-looking family grounded guys...and they save people, and they are sarcastic like regular guys, and do guy things, and make guy comments...I wish I had a guy like them!

This episode was very moving and emotional for all those who cried I can fell your pain however Dean made me so proud the way he held Sam and cried I can still here him screaming Sam's name. Both actors did well this episode the wait till next week is torture.

Dean would not be able to surrvive without his bettere half. He will of course, in his demented mind bewildered top brain . . . (wow, can he use it well?) that he has he will find away to get him back he has not failled on that yet.

Bobby, can be a great asset for him right now. If Bobby, was able to counter act a demon from hell that was inside SAM. He could also find something that will help the HEROIC Winchester.

SAM, to me he is the savior for not only the ones like him or not; but he is also a WINCHESTERS that can hopeflly survive and help in anyway his eldest sibling and all of the hunters that are included to this factor.

A theory that my friends and I have been discussing about the other generations of demon-touched kids is that Sam and Dean's mom was one. That would maybe explain how she knew YED.

All Hell Breaks Loose...I can't imagine a more fitting title for that episode. What else can sum it all up? That episode... let me tell you, if I hadn't managed to get a few of my friends to start watching it my head would have exploded from all the pent-up tension created by not only the show, but it's horrible cliffhanger. And online sources are already marking Sam as dead! This just cannot be. You can't have one brother without the other (Sam and Dean balance each other, and you have to admit that when Sam's not around, Dean gets some serious issues with everything)! It'd be like...like Batman without Robin or something astoundingly horrible like that.
I loved seeing Ava, Andy, Ash (wow, a lot of A's)and especially the Yellow Eyed Demon again. YED is probably my favorite TV bad-guy of all time - he just loves messing with people. And he's good at it too. The actor that portrays YED is phenomenal too - he adds so much more depth to a character that could easily be 2-dimensional if unappropriately done. I hope to see more of him...and learn his name! It's hard to say "Yellow Eyed Demon" in normal conversation (people tend to look at you strangely). I bet he told all the psychic kids he was rooting for them, though. Why else would they kill each other?

I've been following Supernatural since the first airing of the Pilot (it's the only show I actually watch on a regular basis) so I'm hoping (even praying in my moments of doubt) that it continues for at least two more seasons. They can't end it now! The show's just barely started! Admittedly, I did celebrate (just a bit) when I heard the words "Season Finale" and not "Series Finale" like I had feared.

How does Mary know YED, though? Did she come from a Hunter family and try to do what Sam did and be 'normal'?

words cannot describe how i felt about sam dying. even though i knew they couldn't kill him off i still felt horrible and i couldn't sleep for 2 DAYS STRAIGHT!!!!!!! and i cried for a couple of minutes after the show was over but anyway i can't wait to see Part 2 tomorrow.

Jensen and Jared are great as a duo! There connection as friends have made this show A+. Jared will not be killed off. Jensen is a great actor. Kudos to both actors once again for delivering a super performance.

first off sam cant die, he's the fist name in the begging credits..he's the main part of the show. The producers of the show know that if they kill off sam, and there is only dean left...rates will decrease greatly and the show will be cancelled.
And also. you can see sam in the previews for part two. he's hiding behind the tombstone across from dean. so you know he's not dead.

This episode rocked. Everything about it had me on the edge of my seat and the ending was heartbreaking. I literlally stared at the TV screen for about 5 more minutes after it ended not believing that it could happen. AWESOME ACTING!!!!
It takes alot for me to cry and I am not ashamed to say that the ending made me tear up...Dean calling out Sam's name and holding him while he is dieing, absolutely heartwrenching.....GREAT EPISODE!!!
The CW better take their heads out of their A**es and renew this show....

Christina: Comparing SN to Lost? Death is a huge part of SN. The mytharc plot is not hokey, unlike the number punching into a computer during S2 of Lost. Sorry no comparission. Besides, the only truly beloved character that died in this episode is not going to stay dead (Sam). Ava, Ash, and Andy were all well liked characters, but I wouldn't call them "beloved", there wasn't enough screen time. After S1, anyone could have guessed that any recurring character on this show is most likely going to get killed off at some point.

We still have the following recurring characters: Bobby, Ellen, Jo (ick), Hendrickson, Gordon.

Other than John, I'd say the next in line as "beloved" would be Bobby.

TPTB know what they're doing.

OMG!!!! I can't believe that sam was stabbed at the end. It was sooooooooooo sad. I almost jumped out of my seat when that happened. I loved the episode though. Especially at the end when sam dies. It's just so sad and dramtic. I had recorded it before I watched it and I have just been playing that part over and over again, cause it's soooo sad!!

Wow! This episode was too great for words. Like everyone else, I cried my eyes out.

Seriously the acting on supernatural is incredible...its so great that the actors and crew go all out every time, all the time.

The cliffhanger just about killed me... if kripe is doing that to us now, I can't even begin to think of the END of season two.

By this point I know that they have to be having a season three because this show doesn’t give any reason to be cancelled is all around GREAT and I personally think one of the best the CW has along with one tree hill, (which I also love) and smallvile (which I hate) but I know is a good show (just not for me)

Only just now got around to watching it. Once again, Ackles steals the show. Either he's just that good or Padalecki is just that bland.

That last scene made an otherwise fairly yawnworthy episode.

Wow, didn't see that one coming! You guys are lucky, I'm on the way to England tomorrow and won't be back till the 25th. I know they're behind us in episodes so I have to wait to see what happens. It was almost enough to make me cancel the trip, almost. At least John will be back in the season finale. Hopefully he'll know how to get Sammy back.

So I'm basically falling apart again just thinking about this episode. It was definitely made of awesome and angst. I really have no idea how to say anything about this episode without going off on a complete rant for hours and hours, so I'll just say that the billions of repeat minor character guest stars were awesome (while they lasted, that is) and the last scene absolutely killed me. Talk about emotional trauma. J2 and this show are certainly not getting the recognition they deserve for such an outstanding job.

Also, I have to say, I am pretty scared of what's going to happen next week. If Sam DYING was not even big enough to be the cliffhanger Kripke was going to leave us with over the summer, then God only knows what huge shock he has waiting for us on Thursday.

And to those worrying about Sam: I wouldn't worry too much. Sam may be dead (*sob*), but he's certainly not going to stay that way. Kripke himself has said many times that Supernatural is at its core a show about family, the family that is Dean AND Sam. Together. Ripping apart that family like that would completely change the very essence of the show, something that I'm sure Kripke would never do. Still, though, can't wait to see what happens next.

I've never posted on here before, but I just had to after this episode.

Dean tore my heart out at the end of this episode. The way he sat rocking Sammy made me cry! I couldn't speak. The look in Dean's eyes was so grief filled, Dean was a broken man!

We've all been waiting for that Winchester hug, but not in this way--not with Dean having Sammy die in his arms.

I can't wait for next weeks episode--it is bound to be awesome.

I also think John will be the one to come back and save Sammy. He knows that Dean could not, would not survive without his brother, because without Sammy there is no Dean!

i dont think sam is dead because like everyone is clearlly stating the show just doesnt work without both sam and dean... and dean probably would crawl off and die somewhere if his lil bro dont come back cuz sams his life... another thing dean would feel way to guilty to live anyhow cuz sammy was his responsiblity... finally sam probably isnt dead because its only season 2

This is my theory on how Sam comes back to Dean...and to us.

Dean will do one of two things...he will either bring Sam back or he will join him. Life without Sam is NOT an option. If Dean cannot bring Sam back safe and whole, he will take himself out...no questions asked. Life without Sammy is not life...it truly would not be worth living. His entire family would be gone at that point...and Dean would welcome death with open arms.

Dean has not buried or cremated Sam because he will decide to make a deal with the Demon in exchange for Sam’s life. But just as he’s on the verge of making that deal, John intervenes and talks Dean down from the ledge.

Since John is apparently in hell, he has close contact with the Demon...and therefore, the Colt. I think John will steal the Colt from under the Demon’s nose and give it to Dean. Additionally, John may also make another deal with the Demon, to insure Sam’s safe return to his brother.

John will not only save Dean, he will save Sammy. John loves his boys beyond words...and even after his death, he will move heaven and earth...and hell...to make sure they stay safe.

If we wanted to watch mindless drama and action without any evidence of plot, we'd tune into the WWE's Raw or Smackdown broadcasts. So all I'm saying is the next episode has a lot of explaining to do, and we're paying attention, so it better be good, lol.

Kripke u magnificant bastard. Went on a little killing spree yesterday didn't he? First that Lily, then Andy (he was such an awesome character!) and Ash (who might not have died, well i hope he didnt.). Ava-eh she deserved it. But Sam?! Sam can't be dead! Can't have the brotherly love with only one brother-and it would leave us a shell-like Dean.
For like 15 minutes after the last scene of Dean holding a limp Sam, I cried.

Good god no, don`t let Sam die ! It's harsh enough to lose the ENTIRE Winchester family ! All in all, I loved this episode. PLEASE CW, LET SUPERNATURAL MAKE IT TO A THIRD SEASON ! Can not till next week`s episode. For some reason, the whole children trained to fight the human race reminds me of "Dark Angel." [another good show that shouldn't have been cancelled] I still need to know if Dean and Jo still has a chance ! Again, Supernatural is so awesome!

This episode was tense and taut and I love the mytharc so much, because it all ties in and it's all coming together and what in all the three worlds is Dean going to do?

Is it just me who thinks that the demon might have told all the children the same thing? that they were special, and its favorite?

The episode was good, but the ending was what really clinched it. It redeemed what might have been a mediocre episode. Sam's death, alond with Dean's anguish really made the episode work.

And no, Sam is not dead, or won't stay dead anyway so for those who are tearing their hair out because their favorite character died, chill out.

i managed to refrain from sobbing as dean held on to sam's limp, lifeless body, although i must admit that this is because there were others in the room at the time. my opinion (and i hope to dear god that i'm right) is that sam hasn't left us completely. i think if he was gone, and dean knew it, he would have been sobbing. besides, kripke wouldn't kill sam, would he? mary, yes, he would kill her. she wasn't a major character (or so it seemed). jessica, yes, her too. it was because of her death that sam kept hunting with his darling older brother. john, yes. he wasn't a main character (although he was a big part of the story line). ava, andy, lily, ash, (possibly) ellen, yes, i believe kripke would kill all of them (although i'm hoping ash and ellen aren't really dead). but sam? no. no way in hell. if he killed off sam, i think many would stop watching the show in protest. if sam is dead, then dean is the only one left. casualty count- ava, andy, lily, ash, ellen(?), jessica, mary, and john, just to name a few. bobby might even be gone, for all we know. i mean, he was chasing after jake. jake can bench-press 800 freakin pounds! he's super strong. he could take out bobby in a heartbeat if he wanted to. not to mention a good hundred or so demons who would probably be fighting on jake's side. oh bobby, i hope you have your wits about you.
not nesisarily related to the main storyline, but i think dean deserved to experience a vision at least once, to understand what sam goes through every time.
i really hope supernatural comes back for a third season. if it doesn't, i will cry. no matter who's in the room.
and let me say, my heart literally broke when dean screamed sam's name and tried to tell him that he wasn't hurt that badly and that they could patch him up. oh, and sam's head rolling around and his body going limp? i seriously couldn't talk for ten minutes because i was so choked up. and when i did talk, i yelled at the tv that you can't do that to precious sammy. kripke, i'm begging you- don't go through with this! SAM CAN NOT DIE!!!

My favorite episodes are the ones with the boys together, but I understand the need to separate Sam and Dean in this.

The final scene was breathtaking.
Kudos to Jared and Jensen for their amazing acting.
Those two have an incredible chemistry.

And Sam will be ok, because Dean loves him and will do anything to bring him back!

Don't worry, they're not killing Sam off. Just creating some good drama.

omg! that my friends is what you call a amazing episode! all the drama and brotherly love so touching!i cant wait for part 2! and i hope that cw will renew supernatural they cant afford to loose the best show ever!

I only watch CW for one reason, Supernatural. As of last nights episode, All Hell Breaks Loose part one, you all know the reason why I love the show

The writting on the show is consitently fantastic. Never since the Angel tv series, has a drama made me both laugh in delight and cringe in horror durring the same hour block. I swear I didn't blink durring last nights episode, All Hell Breaks Loose. It was that powerful.

My most feverent plea is that CW renews this fantastic piece of quality entertainment for a 3rd Season. Supernatural is my favorite show on tv at this momement. Please CW renew Supernatural its simply awesome.

Bambi: Age range is probably 22 years. Remember, Season 1, John bolted and cut off contact with Dean because there were finally signs that the demon resurfaced. During the 22 yr span, I don't think John came across any other times where there were signs of the demon.

It was one hell of episode...There must be something wrong...Ratings...wrong utterly wrong..

Jensen made me cry so hard last night and I am still not feeling well...

Heather, I saw this too and was SHOCKED! The same thing happened with BUABS. Absolutely an amazing episode, bad numbers.

Did you notice SV's numbers? Lowest ever.

Every network had new episodes, but lower than usual numbers.

I loved the episode. First off Sam being the YED favoerite. Hello! I mean if I were a evil demon I wont want Sam as my leader but have all the other kids back him up. I mean bring on the war big time. Andy I miss him and Ash and Ava well not her really.
Also hello Sam just cause you drank a little like a gram of demon blood doesnt mean its still in ur system.
Mary is like Sam and the demon knows it.

Kripke and company did awsome I just wished the YED wasnt a pansy and didnt think more evil.

I don't think Sam is really dead at least not permanently. But I do think the deamon is trying to weaken Dean by taking everyone he loves possibly the deamn realises that Dean is the only one who can stop him. Dean is going to be very busy next week he has got to 1) find a way to bring Sam back and 2) save the world.

I hope the CW hurried up and renews the show and for more than one season I'll be crushed if the cancel one of the best shows on tv.

OMG: Awesome first half of the finale! I am so glad I stayed away from spoilers.

The casualties:
1) Ash & the Roadhouse: Ash was too smart for his own good, but is he really dead? We were only shown his watch and Ellen was MIA. Ash knew what danger he was in by talking to Dean, therefore did he and Ellen bolt to safety while they had the chance? Anyone else think there's a possibility Ash didn't die?
2) Lily: Poor girl. Only purpose this character had was to clue Sam in on Ava's evil ways.
3) Ava: Playing the scared, vulnerable damsel card with the others when she had already surrendered to the demon's bidding and turned to evil. She killed Andy. I repeat..SHE KILLED ANDY. Ok...I'm not mad at the writers cuz well..this was good writing
4) Andy: Our sweet confused stoner boy. He was hilarious! He enjoyed using his abilities for amusement. Inflicted visions of gay porn on a guy he disliked. LOL. He was the comedic relief in this eppy.

And...sniffle...(Sarah, pass the tissue please)
5) Sammy... Who didn't cry when he slowly drifted away in Deans arms? Dean did what Sam was yearning for throughout the episode. Dean the caregiver, looking out for his little brother, taking care of him, reassuring him. Did you see the relief and release of fear in Sam when he saw Dean? He let his guard down. Dean is Sam's security blanket.

ok it's not like Kripke would kill Sam off for good...come on...we all know who is going to save Sam.

YED: Fed its blood to baby Sammy (and others). Is this why the "chosen" all have supernatural abilities? Andy gave Dean a "vision". Dean reacted in the same manner that Sam did when he was having visions. Did the YED planted visions in Sam's head to manipulate Sam into going where he wanted him to? Was it able to do this because of the blood link?

Sarah - thanks for bringing up the different generations that the YED mentioned to Sam (I missed that): remember the family in "Salvation"?

Mary: She knew (or just recognized) the Demon. Finally, her apology to Sam in "Home" episode has partially come to light . There has got to be much more to this story. Oh Sammy, how is going to deal with knowing this? He can't tell Dean, it would destroy his memory of her.

Sam and Jake: First off...Sam smoked Jake - kicked his ass. Anyway...kind hearted Sam tried to go the route where both stood a chance. Fight the demon, not each other. But Jake made his decision and waged war on Sam, placing himself under the YED's grip. He crossed to evil, which makes Jake weak. Sam is the stronger of the two, in terms of inner strength. He stayed true to himself, his upbringing, and beliefs. He would not give the YED the satisfaction by killing another human being just to prevail because that would be surrendering to the demon's will and giving the demon power, influence over him.

Bobby: we didn't see too much of him, but is anyone else scared for him because he's on Jake's trail? (please don't let Bobby die!!)

Jared: was on top of his game and gave another wonderful performance. Extra praise for the scene between Sam and the YED.

Jensen - Oh, the power of the final moment of the episode. From the previews for Part 2, it appears Jensen may top all his previous performances.

"Kripke does like making us suffer, doesn't he? The wait until next week is going to be brutal"

I've said it on a consistent basis since mid-season, but if the The CW doesn't pick up SPN for a 3rd season, I'm going to cry. Then boycot The CW. I mean, after last night how could they not? Yeah, the ratings last night (for some ungodly reason) sucked the big one... but that was a fluke. And it's freaking Thursday! And somebody give Jensen an Emmy. Jebbus, he was awesome - again!

Oh God, I am sooo depressed. I am counting the days for the next episode.
Poor Dean, that last scene was so touching. Jensen Ackles is as always wonderful in such scenes.
Cant wait for part 2.
