Smallville: Kill or Cure

So much happened in this episode of Smallville! Chloe got put through the ringer, Lana was revealed to have secret plots and plans, Clark confronted an immortal bad-ass, and Kara and J'onn J'onzz each demanded Clark's trust and affection. Plus, Jimmy seems to be falling for Kara, and Chloe has her heart broken, again, some more. She just can't catch a break!

What did you think of Dean Cain's villain, the immortal Dr. Curtis Knox? Since the DC universe already has an immortal supervillian who has lived through all of time, we're a bit confused as to why they didn't just name him Vandal Savage, but we guess then they wouldn't be able to do that oh-so-subtle callback with the initials (Clark Kent? Curtis Knox? Get it? Sigh.) But that clumsy bit was the only thing we didn't like about Knox -- he was creepy, scary and appropriately menacing. When he said "I was Jack the Ripper," we totally bought it -- and even cheered a little.

But we couldn't help but feel sorry for poor, poor Chloe. She went through so much! First, her hope for a cure was dashed when she realized her potential savior was actually a crazed killer. Then, she catches her boyfriend seemingly wooing another woman. And finally, said boyfriend dumps her when she can't promise that everything will be hunky-dory. We're a little confused as to why Chloe didn't just tell him that she was meteor-infected -- yeah, we know, Jimmy's down on the meteor freaks right now, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't change his mind if he knew all the facts. Give him a chance, Chloe!

Then there was the Kara/J'onn fracas. Each is telling Clark the other can't be trusted. Who should he believe? we have to admit, it made us a bit suspicious when Kara was begging Jimmy not to tell Chloe anything, so she couldn't tell Clark. Is she just being petulant, or is she really up to something?

Plus there's Lana, who is definitely up to something. First she says "no secrets," and then she neglects to tell Clark about the money she stole? And what's with her secret surveillance lab where she keeps track of Lex? What's going on?

What do you think? Vote in the polls, and tell us what you thought about the episode, and share your theories comments!

best hate clark, all the unfortune come from him .He should kill lex,or lex will hurt more people.

This Lana and Clark thing is really getting old, its time for Lana to move on and do good things with her life. The one women who really loves Clark is Chloe, those two are some team together. Clark should realize that it is Chloe and only Chloe that will always be in his corner.

i like the fact that Clark is naive about a lot of things ( he has been isolated on the farm!) I especially like the fact he will not just kiss anybody and everybody and i love he is with Lana finally.
He just wont touch other women GREAT FOR CLARK (IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE LIKE CLARK
ANS;- NO, there isnt.
I wish there was!!!!!

omg, i just can't get enough of sm. at the beginning i wanted clark and lana to get together but now i really want clark and lois to hit it cuz lana is causing clark so much pain, i do feel sorry for lana, but she has to step aside and let clark move on with his life. Kara seems to be upto something to me. i know in one of the episodes clark believed he came to earth to destroy it but tried to change that, could the same be for kara? I feel sorry for chloe but i don't think jimmy is the one for her, he's already eyeing up kara (guys, can't live with them, can't live without them). I like lois but so far all the guys she dates leave her and go away. When will ck and lois hook up? I am dying to know! Lois can defend herself unlike lana, ck and lois would make such a great team. and i believe ck and lois would be happiest together. please please pleaseeee hook them up!!
why does the people that know clark secret have to die or go away?!?!?!

Please don't make chloe the next to go. although there isn't much for her to do on the show, she can be clarks side kick.

the red cape given to clark, is he going to make his super suit soon?WOW, CAN'T WAIT!!!

does anyone by any chance know the name of the song that was playing when they first showed DC in his lab? it was a classical song...
must know!
thanks

This new season as started out to be a great one, I love that fact all of the new plots that
the writers are coming up with . But when is Clark going to learn how to fly. Also i know that Lana is pretty and all but what is she really up to now that she know Clark secret and what is up with all of her lies.

Fianlly I have been waiting for this moment :} my wish Lana & Clark together again, I hope this is for good this time , please dont break then up again!!!!

i agree, unlike anychic on smallville, lana got prettier everyday.i`ll definetly vote for kk on 50 most beautiful people.she definetly should be on top 5.btw,erica look older, she has a lot of nip, botox, and sillicon on her.not natural beauty.

Allison was super in this epi and so was Dean Cain.
Please bring back DC and my favorite line was when Clark was at the Talon telling Chloe that she is gotten to forget him x 2. That make my Chlark heart smile.

OMG lana get prettier everyday.no doubt,KK is the prettiest woman on CW.she also on this year 50 most beautifull people.

I liked this episode for some parts. Dean Cain is a good actor and everything but I found his scenes with Lex pretty dull. The ones with Clark were a little better.

Also, I'm really feeling sorry for Chloe.

What I really liked was the morning breakfast scene with Clark, Lana, and Kara. When Martian Manhunter showed up I was ready for Lana to offer the guy pancakes. LOL!

i LOVE IT that lana is going to play lex at his game. sure hope she's up to the task! that said, i would like to see clark NOT be so naive. i hope this season the writers show him as becoming more sophisticated and mature about life. he can't continue to see life through rose-tinted glasses, especially since he'll be outliving everyone in smallville!

question: why is jimmy olsen around anyway? just for the kara/chloe storyline? if so, SV writers: you can do better than this! sigh.

This is what I like in a SV episode: great action, a fabulous guest star, Clark and Lex in scenes together and minimal Lana-angst crap to slow down the plot. The J'onn/Kara confrontation was great too.

I hope Dean Cain returns!

OMG! Chloe needs to give Jimmy a chance... i know that she isn't gonna be on the show very long again but at least when she is she could be happy....and lighten up about the new boss...

And Lana... urgh! i see no reason why she couldn;t just stay in China or where ever she was! She's back in Clark's life... clearly up to something and simply in the way!

And Lois... where is Lois? Not there.....Where? Lana is not supposed to be there!!!!!!!! Lois is... you know... Lois and Clark...

And Lex! What's up with the "I shouldn't be alive?"
Come on!

And lastly... Clark... Why can't he see past Lana's lies? My favourite (NOT) line was "Clark... don't let Lex's lies come in between us!" Why can't he see past that? Lex may have his faults but right now it's not Lex's lies, it's Lana's lies!

Who else did I forget? Kara! I like her! Don't know why but i do. she's gonna learn to control her powers and i think it's totally cute when Clark acts like a big brother toward her. She's gonna be or should be a really good character.

And Lionel. Is he dead? Where did he go? he was unconcious and then i think he was alive. No? i'm not sure. But he's kind of.... well he's not there!

I'll post another one soon but for now i got to go...

i dont like it when there is music playing and u cant hear the show. EXAMPLE

when jimmy and chloe was talking at the end where they were breaking up. They played some stupid song and i couldnt hear there conversation. I wish the producers will leave the music till the end of the show. Other than that i bought every season on dvd.

who is the black guy, J'onn or whatever? Who is he? What episode was he introduced in?

What a great epi, I love Chloe with 2 of my favour CK, Tom Welling and Dean Cain. The best line was in the Talon when clark said x 2 You are going to forget me,ooh, love it.

Smallville's latest episode, "Cure", was packed with "WOW!" I absolutely LOVED it! It was very interesting to have a glimpse into what each character was going through. I, too, thought it was a special 'treat' to have Dean Cain guest star as a 'mysterious' and formidable villain. Great acting by everyone involved, IMO. After learning that Dr. Curtis Knox, (DC), was immortal, him seeming to be emotionally bi-polar at times was understandable. He must be a bit insane as well as incredibly lonely, so D.C. pulled off Doc Knox's personal, tragic dilemma and what his life has become perfectly. I'd never before seen Dean Cain emote so convincingly. It hit Clark solidly to 'See' how that situation affected Dr. Knox associating it with what he's come to believe will be his own future, too. (Not the murdering part, though.) Oddly, during the fight between Knox and Clark, there were times when these two men's voices Sounded very similar. Maybe it's just me, but I tried it with my eyes closed and they sounded almost like one person talking at times. It was a great riveting story even if 'they' (TPTB) didn't explain everything and connect all the dots for us, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Usually, they eventually explain 'almost' everything by the end of the season to show us how everything pulled together for a reason. Knox was there to perform a specific task for Lex who's trying, again, to cover his evil manipulations of the 'meteor infected', but he also had his own agenda; Lana is watching Lex and 'I' think she just really wants some serious Revenge. I've read some spoilers, so I'm telling anyway, that Lionel is simply tied up in the woods somewhere held captive by someone...maybe by Lana??? I think she's using that $10M she usurped from Lex to exact her Revenge on the Luthors. Although Jimmy is often annoying, I was sad for him And Chloe during their breakup. Jimmy is mostly in the dark about so much that goes on surrounding him and Chloe, it's surprising they lasted this long. Another thing, this new development of conflict, betrayal, treason, and family dysfunction within the House of El has me disconcerted and confused, especially since the MM is thrown into the mix. Hasn't J'onn J'onzz always been a 'good guy'? Has Kara/Supergirl Ever been considered one of the 'bad guys'? Although, the creators of SV, Al/Miles, have from the beginning declared that SV was a RE-interpretation of the Clark Kent/Superman story. Could they again be altering the Superman mythos to create more angst? Since Lana is now settling into a 'domestic' situation with Clark at his house, did they agree to a Celibate relationship since Clark is afraid of hurting Lana because of his 'super' abilities if they are 'intimate'? With these added, new twists, my personal question is 'why'? Oh well, I'll probably Still Love Smallville until its season finale anyway, but it doesn't stop me from questioning the creative motives behind such decisions. Just because they can? They should be more cautious, IMO, with introducing certain 'family skeletons' or possibly tarnishing Clark Kent's high standard of 'boyscout' morality.
Well, that was my 2 cents.

Dean Cain was awesome!

This was a nicely crafted, tight, suspenseful episode. Lots of interesting character moments for almost all our players. I thought it was an especially interesting episode for Clark, since there were a lot of forces pulling him in different directions this week.

Though I have to admit, I can't seem to get invested in Chloe's meteor powers, and Chloe and Jimmy are a pretty lame twosome.

And even though Kara is supposed to be clueless about culture on Earth, she's able to make a joke about Rachael Ray and some other chef? Give me a break. That was a major oversight there that just bothered me.

"Cure" was better than "Kara" and "Fierce", but still not too good. :( Think about this episode compared to Seasons 1-3. After the brilliance that was Season 3, Smallville really went down the hole in Season 4 with the crystals and MuLana.

Please dont break up Clark and Lana again!!!!!
It is so good to see Clark happy with the woman he has loved so so completely, unconditionally!! since he was 7. (FINALLY)!!!!!!!!!!!

This comment is for the script writers, producers of sm

Favorite line: Kara - "Call me on my cell." She been on earth a few days/weeks and she's already got a cell phone.
