Top Model Eliminee Katarzyna on Panel, Her Pictures, and Future Plans

Katarzyna got the boot on Top Model this week, and she dishes to Jason C. about how she dealt with Paulina's harsh comments, who she's rooting for in the top four, and which type of modeling she hopes to do in the future. Check out Katarzyna's interview!

Jason C. Talks With Farmer Matt of Farmer Wants a Wife!

Jason C. isn't afraid to ask Matt, the farmer from Farmer Wants a Wife, some tough questions. Who caught his eye right at the beginning? What does he think about the virgins competing for his heart? And would he ever consider moving to the city for love? Find out Matt's take in this interview!

Happy Birthday, Tyler Labine!

Happy 30th birthday, Tyler! Our favorite snarky, off-kilter sidekick hits the big 3-0 today. That's right, Tyler Labine is turning 30. Happy birthday, Tyler!

We know Tyler as the irrepressible, impulse-control-challenged Sock on Reaper. He's a goofball, a free spirit, a walking id ... but he's loyal and brave when the chips are down. He's willing to put his life on the line to help Sam capture escaped souls, and we have to applaud him for that.

Much as we love Sock, we have a feeling he wouldn't be the same if Tyler weren't portraying him. Tyler always manages to walk the line between hysterically funny and ridiculously over-the-top. He's perfect in the role.

Of course, he's had a lot of practice playing the goofy sidekick. Zap2It.com's TVGal said Tyler "deserves a lifetime achievement award in the sidekick category. Just like he did on Invasion, Labine brings the perfect amount of comic relief and fun to his role. He's hilarious, loyal and you just never know what he's going to say next." We couldn't agree more.

So happy birthday, Tyler, and thanks for everything you bring to Sock!

Top Model Recap With Lauren!

Top Model is back tonight with a new episode at 8/7c, and to get ready, Jason C. and last week's eliminee Lauren recap last week's episode! Relive those cringeworthy Cover Girl commercials, the ups and downs of the Rome house, and some of the panel's harsher comments.

Farmer Wants a Wife: The Farmer Takes LA!

How Would You Fix The CW?

All of us here at CW Source Central have been poring over this article in the New York Times, which contemplates various ways to fix the network. The CW suffered a lot from the writer’s strike, and it hasn’t bounced back as well as we’d like. And while we don’t agree with everything the network does, it is the home of some of our favorite shows, so we’re all about wanting it to stick around.

The article brought up some great suggestions – and some we’re not as thrilled with. Here’s our take on some of the hot-button ideas:

Great!
“Keep taking risks on unique, quality shows.” We’d nominate Supernatural and Gossip Girl as just two of the shows that make the CW great. Keep these shows going – and put more money and promotional muscle behind them!

“No summer vacation.” We’re all for it. TV is changing, and the summer reruns season doesn’t work anymore. The network tried with Hidden Palms last summer, and will be launching 13 this summer. Not all summer shows will work, but hey, it’s worth a try.

“Cash advance.” Oh hell yeah. The CW is still small and struggling, but it’s got behemoth corporate parents. If they had more cash, maybe Gilmore Girls and Everwood would still be around!

Maybe …
“Start recycling.” We’re torn on this. We’re really looking forward to the revamped Beverly Hills 90210, but we don’t think the network should recycle just anything. The article suggests the CW think about the success of “American Gladiators” and “Knight Rider” retreads. Oy. If the CW is digging that deep, we’ll pass.

“Quit being polite.” Again, we’re torn. We love that Gossip Girl is a racy show, but we weren’t thrilled with the “Sex! Girls! Sex!” promos the network used to relaunch the season. That’s trying too hard, and it actually takes away form some of the nuance of the show. Likewise, we cringed at this thought: “During its 1990s growth phase, Fox would beat up a hobo for a ratings point. The CW needs that sort of anything-goes urgency.” We’re all for urgency, but we’ll pass on the bum fights.

Aieeeeeeee!
“Real popular or real shocking.” The article touts the shock-factor of “Fox’s Moment of Truth,” and says the CW should channel that. Yikes… Look, we get that reality shows are a fact of life in today’s TV world. But do they really think going for a least-common-denominator shocker will lift the network? We hope it doesn’t come to that.

What do you think of the ideas? What would you suggest to strengthen the CW? What do you want to see? Tell all in the comments!

One Tree Hill Podcast: Life Is Short

What an episode! In our latest One Tree Hill podcast, we discuss the big moments in "Life Is Short:" Dan's six-months-to-live reveal, Lindsey's anticlimactic return, and, of course, the scenes everyone's talking about: Brucas! Are they friends leaning on each other during a tough time, or something more? We debate.

Is Brucas back?

We also talk about Deb getting frisky with that creepy clown (shudder!), Brooke's struggles with baby Angie, and Lucas's broken heart. And Haley, as always, knows exactly what to say.

Oh, and yes, we know that pic isn't from this week's episode -- sadly, the network didn't release any new pics, so we had to use a Brucas pic from a few episodes back.

Beauty and the Geek: Fun in the Snow

The remaining competitors scampered off to Big Bear on Beauty and the Geek, and it wasn't just the snow that was flying. It was all about the fights, potential flings and occasional hissyfits as the Beauties start making their moves on their chosen Geeks. It's not pretty.

Tara and Joe get a bit of a tepid welcome when they return from elimination -- "As a team, they're just Debbie Downers," says Kristina. Cowboy Joe takes the opportunity to make a speech, shockingly enough. But the remaining teams don't have much time to think about it, because Mike announces they're heading to Big Bear for some snowy fun. Everyone is excited (trust us -- there was a montage of people saying "excited!"), except Chris, who thinks it's just going to be the same stuff they're doing in the mansion, but with the potential for frostbite.

The challenge is to use teamwork to build a sled, then race it down a hill. Kristina is the first to complete her sled, but she and Jason can't make it across the finish line. Chris and Cara are next, and Chris is confident they'll destroy the competition., They don't make it more than five feet. Tommy and Amanda make it up next (at least in part because Tommy sprinted up that punishing hill), and they manage to make it across the finish line on the first try.

What is up with Chris? All of a sudden, he's developed both a bad attitude and one hell of an ego. He isolates himself from the rest of the group, and suddenly he's talking tough about the rest of the teams. We're the biggest threat! Cara questions his math - we've only won one challenge (and, we'll add, it was Cara who won in her science fair presentation. As far as we know, she was the one who came up with the egg metaphor.) Chris counts that, plus he won the football game, and "everyone considers" he won the talent competition. What? We don't even remember what he did!

Cara leaves Chris to contemplate his greatness and gets snuggly with Matt. Matt is thrilled, and suddenly decides he's a pimp. Ohhhhhhkay. We're happy he's gaining new confidence, but we think he should slow down a bit. Still - Cara's a sweetie, and we can see her and Matt getting along. Cara won't move beyond some light snuggling, though - she doesn't want to create more drama.

Speaking of drama... the Tara and Joe Show is chock-full of it. Joe is smitten with Tara, and waxes poetic about her sterling qualities -- "I couldn't ask for a kinder heart or a more wonderful soul to be with" - as she beats the crap out of him with snowballs. Tara continues to barely tolerate Joe, and it's getting old. She even builds a pillow wall down the center of the bed they'll be sharing, because god forbid any bit of Joe touch her delicate-flower flesh. He's not her ideal man, fine, but does she have to be so openly disdainful?

It comes to a head when Tara tells Joe he's just jealous because Tara is hanging all over Tommy (who, inexplicably, still thinks he's going to date Amber. Poor, deluded Tommy.) "The truth is, 60 percent of the time, I want to strangle you," Tara says. Only 60? Maybe she does have a kind heart and a wonderful soul! But they manage to patch things up and present a united front at the elimination.

The elimination is working differently this time - all the teams have to nominate one other team to be booted. If there's a tie, Tommy and Amanda will cast the deciding vote. When everyone gets one vote, they need to exercise that power, and choose Jason and Kristina to go home. Say goodbye, Buff Geek and Daddy's Girl!

Reaper: Girl Trouble

Sam learned that it’s a bad idea to make a deal with the Devil this week on Reaper. You’d think he would have figured that out a while ago – say, at the beginning of the season, when he found out about his indentured servitude? – but apparently, Sam is a little slow on the uptake. Sigh.

Sam and Sock

The problems start when Andi starts getting suspicious about Sam’s other life. She trails him to one of his bounty assignments, and sees Sam chop off the escaped soul’s head. That sort of thing can traumatize a girl, and Andi tells Sam he needs to give her an explanation or she’s going to the police. So Sam asks the Devil for permission to spill. Satan grants that permission – if, and only if, Sam will agree to do him a favor at some point in the future. Sam agrees without even thinking. Sam!

Of course, Sock and Ben think they’ve figured out how to deal with Andi – they’ll just tie her up and stash her in the trunk of the car! Great plan, but then what? Hmmm. Sam finally gets a bright idea – he’ll prove it to Andi by giving her some evidence she can’t deny.

Enter Tony. Our favorite vengeful demon confronted Sam earlier in the episode, but he quickly saw that Sam was just the Devil’s patsy. He’s starting the revolution up again (when he’s not helping Sam cook for his date with Andi), but he’s willing to help the boys. Sam and the guys bring Andi to Tony’s secluded cabin, where Andi sees him transform from mild-mannered nice guy to big old honkin’ demon badass. Andi, understandably, freaks out and flees. That wasn’t the reaction Sam was hoping for… Later, Andi tells him she believes him, but she’s waaaaaay to freaked out to have anything to do with him. Sam scares her now, even though he tells her he loves her!

But he can’t spend too much time thinking about it – the soul he thought he’d vanquished actually got away – he’s like a starfish, and any bits of him left over will generate a new body. Since Sam missed a hand last time around, the soul is back. The guys track him down to the hospital and have it out with him. His hand escapes – again – and Ben and Sock go after the animate appendage. Andi interrupts Sam’s attack on the rest of the soul, and she ends up holding the scythe that swallows him. When Sock and Ben track down the rest of the soul (who had regenerated and drops naked onto a freaked-out Sock), things are finally over.

Or are they? The Devil calls in his favor – he wants Sam to spy on Tony and the new revolution for him. Sam protests, but hey, a deal’s a deal. And that, Sam, is why you really, really need to think before making deals with the Devil!

In other news, Sock is back with Josie, and Ben has ridiculously high standards for what he wants in a woman. Sarah, a British co-worker, tells him to hold out for his dream girl… but that somehow translates into Ben and Sarah getting hitched so Sarah can get a green card. That’s fine, but Ben meets a woman who meets all his requirements – and Sarah won’t let him go. Doh!

Gossip Girl: Georgina Arrives!

GeorginaAfter shaking Serena up with some racy gifts last week, Georgina finally made her long-awaited appearance on Gossip Girl. What'd you think? We have mixed feelings -- when she just seemed like a party girl who likes to stir things up, we liked her, but when she drugged Serena's drink, she crossed the line and we're kind of scared of her. And what about the final scene of the episode? She seems like she's after Dan new, complete with a borrowed dog and fake identity. Will he fall for it?

Has Serena learned nothing from her fights with Blair and Dan? Honesty is the best policy, but S continues to dance around the truth when it comes to Dan... and he's not happy. Once again, someone else's crimes were pinned on Chuck this week. And for once, the guy hasn't even done anything wrong!

Speaking of Chuck, he's just not getting enough airtime. Okay, we're pretty hardcore Chuck/Blair fans, but this show hooked us with their romance, and now they both seem relegated to B plot storylines -- Chuck's busy helping Serena cover her tracks, and B is back to her social climbing with the kinda dull Upper East Siders. The one scene when Chuck and Blair exchanged nothing more than a chilling glare left us wanting more. We hope to see more of that plot later this season.

Little J continued to annoy, but her new boytoy Asher is a cutie who even seems to have a soul. Could he be the one to turn her around? He's certainly growing on Rufus!

And we haven't even addressed the odd couple of the episode: Nate and Vanessa. What'd you think of this pair? Before this week, they'd barely interacted, and now they're kissing and cavorting... right in plain sight of Dan and Blair, who both looked devastated by this pairing (but quickly tried to save face).

Let us know what you thought of the episode in the comments, and check back soon for our Gossip Girl podcast on "Desperately Seeking Serena!"

One Tree Hill: Happy Birthday, Jamie!

For his fifth birthday, Jamie wanted two things: a Wii and to have his Grandpa Dan come to his birthday party. He got both... but he never knew about Dan. Skills scored a Wii for the kid and Dan ended up coming by the party, but got stopped at the door. He did manage to leave a nice gift -- Nathan’s very first basketball jersey. There was no card, but Nathan recognized it. When Nathan headed to his dad’s house to tell him (again) to leave his family alone, Dan admitted to his son that he needs a heart transplant. It’s his hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and the doctors have given him six months to live.

What should Nathan do now? Do you think that he should give Dan access to his family now that he only has six months to live or is it absolutely too late for any type of reconciliation with the man?

Lindsey returned to Tree Hill -- but why? Supposedly she came for Jamie’s birthday party, but she arrived late and barely spoke to the kid. She was hanging out by the gifts, but we don’t know for sure if one was from her because she walked in empty handed. Nice. She asked to stop by Lucas’ place after the party. Rather than move back in with Lucas (which would have been a really huge, sudden move after all they’ve been through), she came back to the house to get the rest of her belongings and even though Lucas refused to take back the key, she left it at the door. And she also left him brokenhearted.

Talk about dragging out a storyline. Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of that character after that pointless visit. It almost seems like even Lucas is over it at this point.

Brooke got a firsthand look at the more heinous side of parenting. Get no sleep. Have no life. Repeat.

Baby Angie is quite a fussy child, which could be a side effect of her illness, so everyone is really supportive -- especially Peyton who shares Brooke’s pain. Sure, it’s only been a few days, but Brooke is really hanging in there. Color us surprised! Probably helps that she and Lucas have each other to lean on during their respective tough times. Speaking of those two -- do you think there's romance in their future, or are they just really good friends?

What we loved
Skills admitted to Millie that it’s nothing personal but her very male roommates are a bit uncomfortable with her and her lack of a Y chromosome at the house. As soon as she realized that she didn’t fit in with the boys, Millie devised a cunning plan. She arrived home with beer and pizza, armed with a gigantic water gun. She declared a water war. After that move, we figure that the others love her as much as Mouth!

We just love that Brooke told Jamie that she wanted a baby because he showed her how amazing children can be. Admit it -- you reached for the tissues. Just how adorable was the scene with Jamie and Angie? If you didn’t melt when he leaned over and kissed her, you have a heart of stone.

What we didn’t love
It was so sad that Skills was afraid Naley didn’t want him to hang out with Jamie after he was abducted during the almost-wedding. It’s so sad when Skills is sad! He totally missed hanging out with Jamie. Luckily, Nathan and Haley were able to explain that it’s really something that they are going through and that the kid is truly lucky to have a friend like him. Hopefully this means more cute Skills/Jamie scenes.

We don’t love creepy clowns. Well… who does? The flirting between Deb and the clown was bizarre and slightly curious but we loved that he and Deb were able to hold off Grandpa Dan and keep him from entering Jamie’s birthday party. However, at the end of the party, when they came out of the bathroom all disheveled… it was just plain nasty.

What did you think of the episode? Tell us in the comments and vote in the polls!

Happy Birthday, Tom Welling!

Happy birthday, Tom Welling!Best birthday wishes to Tom Welling, who turns 31 tomorrow, April 26. We hope he has a great time celebrating with his wife and friends.

Tom is, of course, Clark Kent on Smallville, and we can’t think of another actor who could embody the future Man of Steel in quite the same way. Tom’s got it all: The chiseled looks, the killer body, the boy-next-door charm, and the determination that oozes out of every pore. We’ve loved watching him portray the man who will be Superman – the greatest hero the world will ever know.

Tom has taken Clark through a lot over the past seven seasons: He’s been a naïve country boy who moons over the girl next door and can’t tell anyone about his secret life; a high school student who wants to show off what he can do; a kid wanting to rebel against his family; a young man coming to terms with – and fighting against - his destiny; a guy who tries to balance doing the right thing with protecting the people he loves; and even a quasi-father-figure to Kara, the rebellious girl from Krypton. He’s lost his father, seen his best friend go into exile to protect his secret, found and lost and found and lost and found and lost some more the girl of his dreams, and started meeting the people we know will play a big role in the rest of his life as Superman. Through it all, Tom has been a thrill to watch.

What’s more, Tom has stepped behind the camera – he’ll be directing next week’s episode, “Apocalypse,” where we get to see what the world would be like if Kal El had never made it to earth.

We’re thrilled we’re going to see Tom-as-Clark for at least one more season. Happy birthday, Tom!
