Gossip Girl: The Blair Bitch Project

Gossip Girl returned last night and brought on the backstabbing! Blair's return to Constance Billard wasn't exactly glorious -- Jenny and hew new socialite pals humiliated the former Queen B by flinging yogurt into her hair in front of school, almost bringing Blair to tears.

Lil' J has turned bitchy really quickly. And in case you couldn't tell by her actions, her looks pretty much tell the story: she's suddenly sporting shorter locks, heavily lined eyes, and the all-but-trademarked Headband of Evil.

Meanwhile, Blair is sans headband and lovely lipstick for the first time in weeks, and is it our imagination, or are her curls not quite as crisp?

Before things got too heated, Nate stepped in and told Jenny to be careful -- she might be in over her head. She didn't heed Nate's warning about her new circle... but she should have.

Serena, who can be so over-the-top optimistic that we wonder how she was ever a bad girl with a dark side, urged B to kill Little J and her friends with kindness.

So Blair took S's advice and accepted their invite to Butter... only to be humiliated once again when they stood her up for dinner.

The battle was ON. No one stands up B at Butter and gets away with it!

Jenny shocked us when she stole a lovely red Valentino gown from her friend's mom's closet and traded it in for another... only to find that the dress was a one-of-a-kind piece. Too late! Blair got back at Jenny by planning a way-wholesome at-home birthday party with Rufus, complete with Rice Krispy Treats and a picture cake... and Jenny was caught red-handed in the special dress.

Meanwhile, Serena struggled with her new living arrangements -- soon-to-be-stepbrother Chuck is hogging the bathroom, being obnoxious, and suddenly bonding with her little brother, innocent Eric! To make matters worse, S is receiving prank-like packages that allude to her wild child past and have even Lily questioning her daughter's judgment. Serena immediately blamed Chuck, but he denied any involvement. We found out at the end of the episode that it's S's friend G (Georgina, who'll be played by Michelle Trachtenberg) from her past that's sending the packages -- and she's coming back to town. When S tells Chuck, he immediately sits her down for a drink. Sounds like Georgina is major trouble... and what does Chuck know?

Speaking of Chuck, what was up with his fashion choices this week? He always pushes the envelope, but the shark sweater and blue suit seemed a little over-the-top -- did you like his style?

Just when we thought Blair had served Jenny her just desserts -- she'd rounded up the crew at Butter for post-party drinks -- Jenny showed up with none other than NATE on her arm, crushing B and regaining her spot with the popular crew.

But how long will it last? What will Blair do to retaliate? Does Nate realize he's being paraded around, or will he continue to see the best in Jenny? Is Chuck actually (gasp) NICE? And what dark secrets will be revealed from Serena's past next week? Tell us what you thought of "The Blair Bitch Project!"

Yeah, I was bummed when I tuned in Monday in the Chicago suburbs and the sound wasn't there either for a major portion of the show, so I tivo'd the replay, Gossip Girl is also run on Sundays @ 5:00 pm. Thank you WGN/CW

i think Jenny looks really bad when shes mean and it looks like shes put on some weight . i dont like her with the curls .

i can't wait to see what S did in her past that's so bad, even Chuck doesn't know about it!!

Julie, thanks so much for the links! Watching those scenes helped a lot -- I love getting to see Blair at her most devious.

ok so jenny was a total freak in this scene and she better start being nice again cuz even blair doesnt deserve it...
serena/chuck rocked the episode but i think serenas in for a hell of a lot of trouble in the future with "g" and i have a feeling chucks gonna b there to stand up for her.(s not g)
nate needs to get a reality check jennys using him and hes stepping into the same heartbreak and upset that he had with blair.
i repeat jenny was a freak to get mad @ rufus for not"providing" her with all the right necessities at constance.he had a party for her and everything.
and the whole stealing thing??is this still little j??

this episode was good and entertaining but with g coming back to town we're gonna have some more reasons to watch the show.lol.

I just heard your recent Gossip Girl podcast about the GG episode "The Blair Bitch Project". And you guys said that in Chicago you weren't able to hear the part when Bart was talking to Chuck in the limo. Also, the same with the Rufus & Blair scene. So, I found this video on YouTube of the two scenes. So hopefully you'll be able to hear it now:).

http://youtube.com/watch?v=B866349ooxY ----> Bart/Chuck limo scene

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6g-CWaGqq3k ----> Blair/Rufus chat about Jenny

Also, I totaly think Jenny is now a little brat. I seriously dont like her at all!!

I wish there was more Chuck & Blair in this episode though.

I can't wait for the next episode!! More drama to ensue =D

By the way- You guys are awesome! I love hearing your podcast!

I'm looking forward to more of the Serena/Chuck dynamic. I want everything to remain platonic, but a sibling relationship between the two of them would be compelling. Serena could loose some of that self-righteousness that Dan instilled in her, which hinders an otherwise sweet and lovable character, and Chuck could finally experience familial support and affection. So I'm actually rooting for Bart and Lily to stick it out as long as possible if only to encourage more van der Woodsen-Bass family bonding.

i dont like what jenny is doing
and nate is wrong for what he is doing to help jenny
jenny is a backstabing person because blair was one the the person to make her popular

Chuck looks good in anything! I love him! but we need some Chuck/ Blair scenes!
