One Tree Hill: USO Show!

Peyton entertains the troops
We loved some parts of this episode (Haley singing, the return of Q), but we're not so sure about others (uber-jealous Millie, Nathan missing his wife's concert!). Let's recap the latest One Tree Hill episode, which brought music, basketball and drama seamlessly together as only OTH can...

Haley wakes up with a start after a nightmare -- she dreamt that she was about to perform at the USO show, but she forgot all her lyrics. She tells Nathan about the dream, but he convinces her she'll be great. However, he won't be at the concert -- doctor's orders! He's supposed to stay home and rest.

Brooke wakes up to a more pleasant morning. Sam has cooked her breakfast! Their relationship seems to be going great, but just as Brooke digs into her waffles, she gets a voicemail about a new baby that needs a home.

Peyton and Lucas are dealing with the aftermath of her Julian confession. Lucas keeps saying everything's okay, but he promptly shows up at Julian's door and punches him!

Millicent gets home and, to her horror, discovers Gigi in her bed wearing one of Mouth's T-shirts. Mouth is asleep on the couch. Millie storms out and calls Mouth, telling him she'll be home in five minutes -- and by the way, get that slut out of her bed. Mouth freaks out and tells Gigi to leave, and while they talk, we find out that nothing happened between them... though it certainly looks that way. Mouth demands his shirt back, so of course Gigi takes this opportunity to strip for him. Seriously!?

Nathan's hanging out at home playing basketball... basketball video games, that is, when he gets an unexpected visitor from the past -- Q! That's right. Q's ghost has paid Nathan a visit, and he's here to talk some sense into his old friend. Q hasn't changed much -- he still relies on tough talk to motivate Nathan.

Millie confides in Brooke that she's still a virgin -- in all ways, if you know what she means. Could Mouth be getting his needs fulfilled elsewhere? Brooke can't believe it -- a) that Millie's a virgin through and through, and b) that Millie would even consider that Mouth would cheat. Brooke convinces her that he wouldn't, and that she just needs to talk with him. So Millie does. She warns Mouth that while she believes his story, no one else sleeps in their bed but them. And that's final!

Backstage at the USO show, we see all kinds of interesting pairings. First of all, Mia's back! She ends up bonding with Sam, who might have actually found a new friend. Meanwhile, Brooke meets Julian and warns him not to mess with Leyton. Was it our imagination, or was there some flirting going on? Peyton certainly thought so.

Haley sings, and of course, she performs flawlessly. We loved her new song -- did you? The fans go crazy.

Lucas asks Brooke about the whole Julian thing, and Brooke tells him he needs to forget about it. Peyton met Julian after she and Lucas broke up. But it was love! Lucas can't get over that fact. Brooke assures him it wasn't real love; it was rebound love, and you can't blame Peyton for wanting to find someone else after her relationship with Lucas crumbled. Lucas is pensive.

Back at Casa Scott, Nathan and Q banter about basketball. Q doesn't want him to give up on his dreams, but Nathan argues that he's happy enough just having Jamie and Haley. Q doesn't buy it -- Nathan always wanted to be an active participant in basketball, not a video game player or Slamball player. He needs to get out there and pursue what he really wants -- that's what his family would want anyway. Nathan realizes that Q's right.

Julian also has a talk with Lucas, who doesn't want to work with the guy now that he knows his history with Peyton. Here's the deal -- Julian has the rights to Lucas' movie no matter what. So he recommends that Lucas just work with him... or he'll make the movie into whatever he wants, regardless of Lucas' input. Then Julian urges Peyton to talk to Lucas about it. At first she's convinced he's up to no good, but he convinces her that he's just in it for the good of the movie, and she finally agrees.

Sam reveals to Peyton that she's concerned about losing her home with Brooke once the baby comes, and Peyton tells Brooke about the girl's worries. Brooke reassures Sam that she's not kicking her out -- she's in it for the long haul. But after the show, Sam's worried again when she overhears Brooke's conversation with the adoption agency. Sounds like a foster teen in the house isn't exactly ideal for taking in a new baby. Sam looks troubled.

Millie pays Gigi a visit at the office... and she lets her have it. She warns Gigi to stay away from Mouth because she doesn't trust her one bit. Gigi is left speechless.

Peyton convinces Lucas to work with Julian. He reluctantly agrees. He'll try to get over their history. Peyton jokes that he can punch Julian as often as he wants, and that gets a laugh out of Lucas.

Gigi asks Mouth to walk her to her car -- just as friends. He agrees, but then she insists on a lingering hug... which Millicent sees. Looks like Millie's got a new side gig as a spy on her own boyfriend!

Haley returns home after the show to find the house filled with lit candles and an expectant Nathan -- he wants an encore. Haley performs for her proud husband.

I think it was great that the folks at the show went to effort of putting on a REAL USO CONCERT! Kudos to them and my appreciation as well!

It WAS weird that Nathan would skip Haley's concert (it's not like she's been doing a lot of them recently) .. but let's face it, that was just the reason they used so that Nathan could be home alone to have his 'encounter' with Q. And yes, I DID like her new song.

I enjoyed the punch - Julian definitely deserved it. (And since he didn't return it, you know he probably had an idea that one might be coming at some point - or at least must've felt like he deserved it a little too.)

the ghost of q is back. this didn't really seem like an episode more like a concert. nothing really happened. i wonder if the next episode is a dream or a new story for luke becuse it would be kind of wierd for them to take this from nowhere. have fun you guys.

OMG! YAY Naley!!!!!!! I am soo sooo glad they didn’t put jamie in the episode. As much as love his adorableness, I think that mark is finally starting to LISTEN to the fans on our lack of naley. Up until these past few episodes, they’ve portrayed nathan and haley as a boring old married couple where the only thing they have in common is their kids. Recently, he’s showed them again, as a young, deperately in love couple, similar to how they were during the first couple seasons. I think nathan listened to what haley said in 5×13, about her having doubts about whether she was sexy or not, and now nathan is telling her every chance he gets! that’s what i want to hear! when i saw the candles, I was hoping for more romantic stuff right there, not like (after the episode ended apparently). oh, and please oth style department, more short sleeves for Nathan! Well next week is a dream sequence, so that means anything is possible, including OMG DAN AND HALEY!?!?!?!? but then we see nathan and haley dancing and kissing, so its ok. Heres what I hope the prediction is, just because im a big fanfic person: i hope that at the beginning of the episode, haley and nathan don’t know eachother, nathans the bartender and haley’s the singer, dan’s the evil dude with a bunch of cash, and eventually nathan and haley find eachother in the end! that would be AMAZING! welll im rambling, butI’m just so excited because next week is chad’s episode, and on nov 24, mark promised a multi-cliffhanger mid season big episode! SO FREAKIN EXCITED! GO NALEY! (ps. no spoilers were put into this comment, all predictions)

I really enjoyed this episode. The Leyton was great as usual although I'm not too happy about the whole Nathan staying home. I find that quite weird. The whole mouth storyline is getting on my nerves so I hope that ends soon. I was happy that there was no Jamie because we got to see more Naley. And the cutest moment of the episode was the last leyton scene when lucas says besides how can you not fall in love with peyton sawyer. awwwwww so cute! lol

Great episode and yes, the punch from Lucas was necessary... heh... if nothing else than to entertain me!

I do like julian... sleezyish as he is, i think he's got a good heart in there.

Could have sworn we already had the whole Millie is a virgin! episode. And as far as the story goes, I can see him missing the concert (Nathan walking around a military bases talking to someone not there? Homeland security risk...)

I really enjoyed it.
