Holy crap. Holy crap! Supernatural hit us with the most shocking finale we’ve seen since the beloved Metallicar was t-boned by a semi. How could they do this to us?

We catch up with the guys when Dean’s got about 30 hours to live. Things are looking grim for Dean – he’s dreaming of Hellhounds, hallucinating demon faces, and generally cursing his fate. The good news? Bobby thinks he might be able to help. Now that they know Lilith holds the contract, they can track her down and kill her. How hard could it be?

Pretty darn hard, thank you. Lilith is a bad-ass, and the normal demon-fighting procedures won’t cut it. Sam wants to summon Ruby to get her knife but Dean won’t hear of it. She lies! Sam sneaks off to summon Ruby anyway – give me your demon-killing knife! Ruby says that won’t do a whole hell of a lot, but Sam? He just might already have the skills he needs to save Dean. See those demon-controlling powers that Old Yellow Eyes gave to his general are lying dormant in Sam. If he can tap into them, he can control Lilith and save Dean.

But Dean won’t have that. Yes, of course, Dean was eavesdropping – he knew Sam wouldn’t listen to him. What’s more, he manages to piss Ruby off enough that she starts beating the crap out of him, giving him an opportunity to pinch the knife. What’s more, he’s already prepared a Devil’s Trap on the ceiling. Now they’ve got the knife, and Ruby can’t go after them.

The guys try to slip off, but Bobby’s no slouch – he’s disabled the Metallicar to ensure he gets to go with them. The guys track Lilith to an idyllic suburb in Indiana, where the big bad is on “shore leave.” She’s inhabiting a cherubic little girl, and we won’t be able to pass a playground without shuddering after seeing Lilith at play. Lilith-girl kills a babysitter, makes a large blood puddle out of the family dog, snaps her grandpa’s neck, and generally has her family living in terror. It’s not good.

One of the few upsides of Dean’s approaching deadline is he can see demons true faces, so he’s able to tell Sam and Bobby where all the other demon-possessed folks are hiding in plain sight. The guys do a little stealthy demon pruning, but before they can get too far, someone grabs Dean. It’s Ruby! How’d she escape? Unfortunately, the argument they have attracts the demons’ attention, so our heroes have to make a run to Lilith-girl’s house. Bobby isn’t with them – he’s busy blessing the local water supply, so the sprinklers turn into serious demon repellant. Nice work, Bobby!

Sam makes his way up to the little girl’s pretty pink bedroom, and prepares to use the demon-killing knife to do in the sleeping child (at her mother’s terrified urgings). Right before he can strike the fatal blow, Dean stops him – Lilith isn’t in her anymore! The clock strikes midnight just as the guys have finished sequestering the family in the relatively safe confines of the basement, and the Hellhounds start coming. Dean can see them approach, and he, Sam and Ruby barricade themselves inside a room. But something’s not right – Ruby isn’t herself. Lilith has taken over Ruby! She pins the guys, then lets the Hellhounds in. They savage Dean while Sam watches in despair. Then she prepares to work her deadly white-light mojo on the boys, but something goes wrong. Ruby’s eyes roll back, and Sam is released, He’s perfectly willing to use the knife on Ruby, but the demon leaves her body before he can strike.

So we’re left with Sam and Dean. Sam cradles Dean, but nobody’s home—he’s dead. No, really. He’s dead. They didn’t save him. Dean is actually dead. Aigh!

It gets worse – the camera zooms into Dean’s lifeless eye, and we go deep inside him, all the way to hell itself. We’re left with the image of Dean chained in a dark, foreboding hell, screaming for Sam to help him. Holy crap!

Smallville pulled out all the stops for this season finale: Lex discovers Clark's secret! Brainiac is defeated for good! Lana does a runner! Jimmy proposes to Chloe! We can hardly keep up with all the developments!

Last week, Kara was suddenly incapacitated. Apparently she recovered, because she's feeling good enough to track down Edward Teague on a chartered plane - and then cause that plane to crash, killing everyone on board. Has Kara gone evil? When Clark confronts her, she says she's merely trying to make sure that Lex doesn't gain control of Clark. So why is she showing up at Lex's lair, telling him that it's he destiny to use the device to save humanity and defeat the Traveler?

Clark and Chloe decide they need to take Kara down, and that means deploying Kryptonite. Clark agrees that he's got o be far away when Chloe whips out the glowing green rock. That turns out to be a mistake - the Kryptonite has no effect on Kara. That's because it's not Kara at all - it's Brainiac! He tries to do the same sort of mind-whammy maneuver that he pulled on Lana, but Chloe's meteor-freak powers apparently make that difficult Brainiac needs to refuel after that encounter.

Clark goes to Chloe in the hospital, and her milky eyes tell him everything he needs to know. He goes after Brainiac, who is unrepentant. I was fighting for my survival! If you kill me, you'll never see Kara again! And besides, you'd never kill another man! Funny thing, though - Brainiac isn't a man, he's a machine, and Clark has no problem disposing of a bunch of circuitry.

The good news? Brainiac's demise cures Chloe and Lana. The bad news? Kara is still trapped in the Phantom Zone, unbeknownst to Clark. Even worse, Lana takes the opportunity to get out of dodge. I love you more than you'll ever know, she tells Clark (via DVD), but the world needs you more than I need you. I can't keep you to myself. Don't look for me. Clark weeps.

Jimmy takes Chloe's illness as a wake-up call - I could lose you! He doesn't want to waste any more time, so he proposes to Chloe. That tender moment is broken up by the Department of Domestic Security. See, Lex told Jimmy to lie to Lois to get her off his case. Jimmy did that, passing on a story that Lex was just going to the Arctic to look for oil drilling sites, but he refuses to play Lex's errand boy after that - I just can't lie to my friends! Lex says he respects Jimmy's principles, when what he really means is "Dude, you're so screwed." Hence, the government grabbing Chloe. Jimmy goes to Clark for help, and passes on a vital bit of intelligence: Lex is going to the Arctic, and it's not to drill for oil. Clark knows what that means.

That sets up the climactic showdown at the Fortress of Solitude. Lex (inexplicably sans parka) enters the Fortress and figures out what to do with the Traveler-controlling doohickey he found in the fireplace. Clark begs him not to go through with it, but Lex is unmoved - you never trusted me! Just think of what we could have accomplished if you'd let me in on your secret! Lex connects the doohickey to the Fortress, and everything collapses. The Fortress sinks below the Arctic ice - taking Lex and Clark with it.

Well, we've got a winner and she's our first <strike>plus-sized</strike> <strike>full- figured</strike> juicy booty top model - Whitney!

We got to watch the final episode (along with the Seventeen Magazine cover unveiling) with the three final contestants sitting right in front of us! Hearing and seeing their reactions to what was being played on screen was priceless.

The show started out with Anya, Fatima and Whitney in Rome and their next challenge was to shoot a commercial and print ad for Cover Girl. Anya's nerves started getting the best of her and she broke down while getting her makeup done. We got the scoop (although it seemed pretty obvious from the editing) that she was also battling a cold on top of it all. All three of the girls seemed to struggle with their lines (Anya practically put her hands in front of her eyes when her commercial was being shown at the screening) but Fatima's best take came out the worst. The Cover Girl print ad was much stronger for Fatima and Paulina even commented that Whitney's ad showed brilliance for the first time. When it came to critiquing Anya's photo, Paulina wasn't as impressed. She scoffed and said Anya looked "stupid" in the photo - like she was thinking about fields and pastures. We were a bit offended by this remark and judging by the look on Whitney's face, she didn't approve of it either.

In the end, it was Fatima who would be sent home before the final runway show. The entire audience cheered loudly as Anya and Whitney went to retrieve their photos from Tyra. Claire, who made an appearance along with Lauren, Katarzyna and Atalya, came up to hug Fatima.

The final runway show had the girls walking the catwalk in some hot Versace gowns. Whitney's pink ensemble looked like something Victoria's Secret might put out. It probably helped that her hips were swinging from side to side. Anya had some problems with the second dress she wore since it was so tapered towards the bottom. Both of the ladies did an incredible job - and in a shocking twist, the judges actually had nice things to say for once. It was hard to tell who the winner was going to be, although some of us speculated that Tyra was really intent on having a full-figure model as the winner.

Turns out, Whitney did get the Elite modeling contract, Seventeen Magazine cover and the glory of being named America's Next Top Model. To be honest, we were a little bummed that Anya didn't win (and from some of the comments we got from the past contestants, they weren't happy with the decision either). That being said, we do think Whitney is gorgeous and will be a great role model for all the girls who aren't twigs - which is most of the population.

Congrats to Whitney and to all of the contestants for even being chosen to compete! What did you think of the episode? Are you happy with who won?

Apparently those tough negotiations paid off for Allison. We're relieved!

Here's what Ausiello has to say: "[S]pecifics of the new contract -- which was signed just hours ago -- are being kept under wraps, [but] I'm told it calls for Mack to appear in all episodes produced next season. As I reported earlier this week, the actress' reps were (wisely) using the imminent departure of Smallville vet Michael Rosenbaum as leverage in the negotiations. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the strategy paid off."

Beauty and the Geek wraps up with a human scavenger hunt, as the two final teams scamper across LA trying to find their friends and compatriots. But first, we had to get through a whole bunch of catfighting drama. Sigh. When did this become just another reality show?

First, of course, they had to whittle the final three down to the final two. The three remaining couples play a BATG version of the Newlywed Game where they had to prove they knew their partners. Chris and Cara are the first team to get three correct answers, so they're in. In the tiebreaker, Tommy and Amanda beat Matt and Leticia. Tommy actually gets weepy - he doesn't want to be responsible for bouncing anyone out. Awww.

We have to admit, we're a bit bummed out that Matt and Leticia didn't make it all the way. They seemed to have a genuine bond, and both halves of the team pulled their weight. At least we can take comfort in the fact that both of them feel like they got a lot out of the experience.

The next day, the final competitors get a surprise: All the eliminated players are back for a party.

Tommy is thrilled to see Amber, but she quickly confirms that she's just as stuck up and bitchy as she was when she left. Oh, sure, she's "proud of Tommy," she says, and she'll allow him to take her shopping - what a jewel! But she gets territorial around any other woman, including Amanda, Tommy's partner. Amber stalks off after Amanda gets too familiar with Tommy, wiping up some spilled drink from his pants. That sets Amanda crying - she doesn't want to stand between Tommy and a good time, but seriously, Amber is just mean! Tommy finally renounces Amber in favor of hanging out with his partner.

But that's not the end of the drama. It seems Kristina is talking trash about Amanda and Tara, stirring up drama and trying to get people in trouble. Tara and Amanda confront her, and we get the hear gems like Kristina saying "I'm sorry I'm prettier than you..." (whatever...) and Tara accusing Kristina of being stupid. We liked this show better when it was about boosting confidence and discovering hidden depths, not the standard fight-and-drama scenarios.

The next day, all the guests are gone, and the two remaining teams have to track them down. Each of the former housemates are at a different spot in LA, and the teams have to use their knowledge about their personalities as well as written clues to find them. The team that collects the most people wins.

It's a tough challenge, made tougher by monstrous LA traffic. We were amused to see that Chris and Cara picked up Amber - was it because Cara really knew more about her, or because Tommy and Amanda didn't want to be stuck in the car with her? After a lot of trolling around LA, the teams get back to the mansion. Chris and Cara have collected four people; Tommy and Amanda have collected five. Tommy and Amanda win!

Other highlights: Randi laughing at all the catfighting drama; Amber rolling her eyes and sitting stiffly in the limo, separate from everyone; Jonathan showing off his self-imposed makeover (Yowza! We knew there was a hottie under all that hair!); Tara ending the fight with Kristina with "other than that, it's good to see everybody..."; and Tommy trying to out-shush an art-gallery shusher.

What were your favorite parts of the finale? Did the right team win? Talk about it in the comments!
