The Sourcies Start! Vote for Favorite Newcomer!

All right folks, we've entered the voting phase of The Sourcies! We're going to kick things off with a hotly contested category: Favorite Newcomer. The nominees are:

Castiel
Supernatural

We were worried about this guy when we first heard about him -- an angel? Really? And is his presence going to mess up the bond between the boys? But he won us over from the first moment he appeared -- and now we can't imagine the show without him.

Davis Bloom
Smallville

What's not to love about Davis Bloom? We loved almost every minute that he was onscreen. He's a healer and a hottie, he can stand up to a prying Clark, and he generated some serious sparks with Chloe... OK, fine, he just happened to be the human face of the ultimate destroyer, but nobody's perfect.

Julian
One Tree Hill

It seemed like Julian would be a bad guy when we first met him -- but those first impressions were deceiving. We fell almost as hard for Julian as Brooke did -- smart, funny, snarky, great with Sam, a good head in a crisis, and ridiculously romantic. Swoon!

Liam
90210

Pardon us if we lapse into cliche, but we just can't help ourselves. Liam is the sort of guy who was born to prove the axiom that good (and not-so-good) girls LOVE bad boys. This smoking-hot, tortured adrenaline junkie injected just the right hint of danger into the show.

Nina
Reaper

Who knew a love-sick, sort-of-reformed demon could be so much fun? She started off trying to kill Sam, and ended up falling for Ben -- which was the cue to let the hilarity ensue. We can'thelp but love this girl!

So who do you pick? Voting is open for one week. Make your decision, and feel free to talk up your choice in the comments!

We'll post a new Sourcies category on Monday, July 6. Check back then for more Sourcies goodness!

NOTE: Fear not, Sourcies fans! The Video clips of the nominees will be appearing with the next category. Because we have such a full slate this time out -- and because our video production wizards do need to sleep every once in a while -- we're running the clips on Mondays and Fridays, and doing photo posts on Wednesdays.

Podcasts Are Coming, We Swear!

We know, we know, we've been neglecting you. We said there'd be podcasts, and thus far we haven't delivered. It's been a matter of scheduling -- now that we don't all work in the same office, we're having trouble getting together to watch the eps and then dish about them. We're working on it, and hope to have OTH podcasts for you soon -- like, within the next couple of weeks soon. Supernatural podcasts... well, we're doing our best, but it might be with a different or rotating cast of 'casters. Which raises a question:

Vote, comment and let us know what you think. We'll let you know as soon as we've got podcasts to post, and thanks for your patience!

One Tree Hill: Bring on the Bad Girls!

We've got more casting news for One Tree Hill! First up, the news We've all been waiting for -- Rachel Gatina is coming back to Tree Hill! According to Michael Ausiello, Danneel Harris has signed on for at least seven eps next season, starting with episode two.

We are, of course, thrilled. We love Rachel's potential as a troublemaker, and we love it even more when we get to see her vulnerable side. Which Rachel will we be seeing next season? Will she still be dealing with drug addiction and the fallout from disappearing with Brooke's money after evil Victoria scared her off? Or will she be returning to her friends to start a new life? We can't wait to find out!

More OTH news after the jump!

One Tree Hill: Haley's Sis Signs On, But Is She Older or Younger?

Shantel VanSanten
The folks in the casting office at One Tree Hill headquarters are on a serious roll. First they hired that hunka burnin' love, Robert Buckley, to play Nathan's agent, and now we're hearing that they have gone and found Haley's sister, Quinn. The lucky actress to join the Tree Hill gang is Shantel VanSanten. She's perdy and she's bubbly and we're not entirely sold on the whole depressed storyline that supposedly brings her to Tree Hill, but hey -- she's an actress, right?

You may recognize Shantel from her stint on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search, and if you want to get to know her more before season seven kicks off you, can check her out in the upcoming flick The Final Destination, arriving in theaters at the end of August.

No one gets hired in Hollywood (er…Wilmington) without some controversy. There seems to be some brouhaha about whether Quinn will now join the show as Haley's OLDER or YOUNGER sister. Truth be told, the actress could look older or younger than BJG. However, die-hard OTH fans know that a big part of Haley's character (and plot development, story arc, etc.) has been the fact that she was the baby of the family. In other OTH casting news, TV Fanatic is reporting that Danneel Harris will reprise her role as Rachel next year. The actress has expressed in the past that she'd like her character to return to the show to redeem herself. We'll see if that happens! How would you like Rachel to return? Would you like to see her in typical Rachel form, or would you prefer a kinder, gentler Rachel? Tell us in the comments!

Mark Your Calendars: The CW Premiere Dates Are Here!

So many cliffhangers rounded out this past season: What is Dan and Serena's half brother up to? What -- or who -- did Annie hit? How the heck are Sam and Dean going to defeat Lucifer? Why did the-man-who-will-be-Super say "Clark Kent is dead?" And that's just the start of it! Well, now we know when we can expect answers: The CW has announced its fall premiere dates. Start counting the days now!

It all starts on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with the season premiere of 90210 and the series premiere of Melrose Place. Wednesday, Sept. 9 brings the two-hour season premiere of America's Next Top Model: Shorty Edition. Oh, the drama! We can't wait.

Winchesterites, you can breath again on Sept. 10. That's when Supernatural returns to the small screen, and when we start to figure out how (or if!) the boys can avert Armageddon. But before we get to them, we get introduced to Damon, Stefan and Elena as The Vampire Diaries makes its debut. Should be a spooky and satisfying night!

The Monday-night lineup returns on Sept. 14, with one slight change: One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl are changing places. Now OTH gets the first spot, and GG rounds out the night. The Beautiful Life makes its debut on Wednesday, Sept. 16, after ANTM.

Finally, Smallville swoops back onto our screens on Friday, Sept. 25. Why the wait? Your guess is as good as ours.

Get the schedule in an easy-to-digest form after the break.

One Tree Hill Signs Delicious Season Seven Eye Candy

We were really excited when we heard that BH90210's (the old school version) Brian Austin Green was in talks to join the cast of One Tree Hill in season seven, playing Nathan's sports agent and friend, Clayton. But we also noticed that the casting call was asking for 20-somethings, and BAG is more like a 30-something...possibly late 30-something.

Perhaps the folks at The CW were reading our minds, because now we're hearing that the crafty Powers That Be over at The C-Dub have gone and hired Robert Buckley, the hunka burnin' love that graced the final episodes of Privileged. If you didn't catch him during his brief stint on that show, you'll probably recognize him as Kim Raver's boy toy on Lipstick Jungle.

After taking one look at Robert Buckley we just have one question: When will we get the first shirtless scene featuring both Nathan and Clayton? Actually, make that two: Brian Austin who?

Buckley's addition is the first announcement by The C-Dub as they revamp the cast for season seven. We're still waiting to hear about who will play the party girl/supermodel, and who will be cast as Haley’s sad-sack sister. Naturally, we'll update you as soon as we get word!

What's your take on the casting? And who would you like to see join the cast in the two new female roles? Tell us in the comments!

One Tree Hill: New Characters to Love ...or Hate

Fans are nervous about who and what will fill the void left behind with the departure of Lucas and Peyton at the end of season six. But One Tree Hill is a show that constantly reinvents itself -- and does it well. Mark Schwahn and company know what they are doing, people!

And just to prove how skilled they are, they have let some good information about season seven leak out recently. Not only will Austin Nichols become a series regular, meaning that Brooke could actually find love and happiness this year, but three other fresh newbies will be arriving in Tree Hill to shake things up a bit.

Spoilerphobes, avert your eyes. Everyone else, read on after the break!

Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill Finale Podcasts: "The Goodby Gossip Girl" and "Remember Me as a Time of Day"

Listen Now:Gossip Girl Podcast: "The Goodbye Gossip Girl" and One Tree Hill podcast: "Remember Me as a Time of Day"

All is well in the worlds of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and The CW Source! We finally made technology bow to our will, and Jackie made a triumphant return as we discussed the season finales of our two Monday-night obsessions. There was plenty to talk about!

Happily ever after
On Gossip Girl, the gang decides to track down the mistress of mayhem once and for all after she labels Chuck a coward, Blair weak, Nate a whore, and Serena (gasp!) irrelevant. All sorts of things go wrong -- but one very important thing goes right: Chuck and Blair FINALLY get to admit their love for each other! At the same time! EEEEEEEE!

And on One Tree Hill, it's a long series of happily-ever-afters -- Peyton recovers, and Leyton is blissful with their baby. Nathan gets called up to the NBA, Brooke admits her love for Julian, Victoria morphs into a good mother, and even Mouth and Millie engage in some blissful canoodling. The only one having a bad time is Dan -- and let's face it, he deserves it!

Find out which one of us went crazy for Chair, hear who cried -- and why! -- during One Tree Hill, discover who had objections to all the joy, and learn what has us excited -- and worried -- about next season of both shows. Plus, I share some tales about the Gossip Girl cast the the CW Upfronts last week! (Sorry, OTH fans -- that cast wasn't present.)

Listen to our Gossip Girl podcast for "The Goodbye Gossip Girl" and our One Tree Hill podcast for "Remember Me as a Time of Day" and let us know what you think in the comments!

One Tree Hill: Really? They're Gone?

We held out hope until the eleventh hour of the season finale of One Tree Hill last week. But the reality has finally hit us this week: Chad and Hilarie are history. However the show will go on and the two have said that they are open to coming back to the show from time-to-time in guest-starring roles.

Have a bitchin' summer!
Sure, we’re unbelievably nosy, but it’s also our duty to keep fans informed. So throughout the summer we’ll be filling you in about what our favorite OTH castmembers are doing during their hiatus. One of our faves, Bethany Joy Galeotti, is working with her family at their restaurant (yes, folks, truth is stranger than fiction -- she even waits tables sometimes like she did at Karen’s Café). According to their blog, which Bethany Joy appears to write, the actress is quite the mistress baker and even whipped up some earl grey cupcakes with milk and honeylemon frosting. Umm...yummers? She's so sweet, we'd try them even if we had our doubts.

We're trying to get over it but...
As much as we try to distract ourselves, we can't shake the fact that a couple of our favorite characters have waltzed off the OTH set for good. At this point the big question is...where the heck did Leyton go and what do we call them now -- Leytewyer? Suyton?

The couple literally took their gigantic spawn and drove off into the sunset. They left behind friends, family and Peyton's budding biznass. Not a single word of dialogue was uttered about the where and the why. So we’re wondering.....where? Why? Certainly the ever-crafty Mark Schwahn will come up with something brilliant about it next season. But what do you think now? Tell us!

CW Fall Schedule Announced!

Vamps and models and Melrosites are flooding The CW's fall schedule -- and we can't wait! The network announced its 2009-2010 schedule today, and we had a few surprises. Yes, we knew about Melrose Place, but The Beautiful Life took us by surprise. A couple of shows we thought were a lock didn't end up on the schedule at all, and a few more shows we hoped would return have been dropped. But the biggest -- and most welcome -- surprise? All of the new shows on the sched look likely to rock!

The three new shows we can look forward to in the fall are Melrose Place, The Beautiful Life and The Vampire Diaries. We got a chance to talk to cast members from all three new shows, and we'll have an in-depth look at the series later. For now, here's a quick look, plus our impressions:

Melrose Place is taking the post-90210 spot on Tuesday nights. You know the drill: A bunch of glamorous 20-somethings share their lives and loves in a faboo apartment complex off LA's storied Melrose Ave. In the original incarnation, the show started off almost a little slow, then embraced its soapy elements a season or two in. This version seems to intend to go over the top from the get-go -- and that has us salivating.
Our Take: We can't wait to see Katie Cassidy as an acid-tongued, bisexual publicist; Ashlee Simpson as a sweet, naive small-town girl who's willing to scheme to get what she wants; and Shaun Sipos as the troublemaking spawn of original Melrose resident Michael Mancini. Plus, Sydney is back from the dead -- and how are they going ot pull that off? We can't wait to find out!

Find out about The Beautiful Life and The Vampire Diaries after the jump!

One Tree Hill: Season Finales Rule! But It'll Be a Long Summer

Happily ever after
Here we were, all worked up, worrying that Peyton would not make it through the One Tree Hill season finale. But as it turns out, Lucas and Peyton and baby Sawyer makes three! They made us sweat it out for about five minutes before we saw that Leyton had a healthy little girl. And just a few minutes later Peyton woke up. So much warm and fuzzy goodness. They name the baby Sawyer Brooke Scott. And Karen finally arrives in Tree Hill...if just for a short time. Everyone thanks her for being an awesome mom.

Mia's new album is released and she prepares to go on tour. Chase tells her that he wants to keep her to himself but is willing to share her for awhile at least. She tells him that even though she'll be touring, her heart will stay in Tree Hill.

And speaking of boring storylines, Millie decides that she doesn't want to be away from Mouth anymore. She wants to move back to Tree Hill and prepares to tell Brooke. But ever the wise sage, Brooke beats her to the punch and tells Millie she needs her to run the shop in Tree Hill. Besides, oh yeah, her boy needs her too.

One Tree Hill Finale Preview

The One Tree Hill season finale airs tonight, and we've got a clip to set the scene! Take a look:

Our take? Come on, show, why are you giving up a Nathan/basketball clip when we're worried about Peyton! What's going to happen to her? Will she be ok? What about the baby? We need to know! But alas, we're going to have to wait for the finale tonight to find out.

What's your take on the teaser clip, and what do you think will happen to Peyton? Talk about it in the comments!

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Forever and Always Almost"

Listen Now

The big day is finally here on One Tree Hill! Peyton and Lucas get married in a lovely, very personal ceremony, surrounded by friends (but not, alas, family -- we missed you, Karen and Larry!) and bouyed up by their love. The vows left even hardened cynics a little sniffly. So it's a shame we spent the entire episode waiting for everything to go horribly awry...

Not that there wasn't a bit of wedding drama even before the much-feared end --- Lucas invited Julian -- who brought a date. Even worse, said date is Missy, the Brookealike from the movie. What's a girl to d? Well, if you're Brooke, you enlist the nearest hunky pop star to make your ex jealous. Meanwhile, Skills is on Jamie duty -- and he's making sure the kid won't go missing this time -- and nathan is dealing with some bad news -- the Clippers drafted Nino, not him. Raise your hand if you're surprised by that development.

All of which is just the build-up to the moment we all knew was coming. Lucas goes to the garage to unveil the Comet, leaving Peyton alone. She immediately starts bleeding heavily and falls to the floor. Will these two get a happy ending despite all of the trauma? (Hint: This article suggests the answer is no.)

Mia and I discuss the many quoteable lines, and reveal some shocking sentiments that will have you wondering whether I've suffered a recent head trauma. Plus, we reveal the key signs that your wedding is going well, speculate on Jamie's classroom, lament what happens when teasers run amok, and offer our services to any engaged couples out there.

One Tree Hill: A Wedding Episode with No Casualties...Well, Almost

Mr. and Mrs. Scott
There's nothing quite like a last-minute shotgun wedding to bring the gang together in One Tree Hill. But really, there's nothing last-minute about Lucas and Peyton. This thing has been coming for years.

The big day, however, did get thrown together quickly. How quickly? Apparently the wedding will take place without any parental units in attendance. Karen's "stuck" in a resort in Grenada and Larry's on a dredging boat off the coast of Iceland. That's what they get for not sending out "save the date" cards, we say.

Everyone is excited about the impending nuptials -- but not so much for the bride and the groom. Lucas and Peyton getting hitched is really just a formality at this point. Everyone is excited about the potential for slutty wedding sex.

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Show Me How to Live"

Listen Now

Peyton is preparing for the baby on One Tree Hill -- in a way that only Peyton can. She's putting together an "in-case-of-death" capsule for the tot, and Lucas doesn't deal well. So he takes her box of memories and leaves. Way to support your bedridden wife, dude! Fortunately, Jamie plays Voice of Wisdom and teaches Lucas the error of his ways.

Meanwhile, Brooke is dealing the Sam drama -- she's so discombobulated about Sam's visits with her birth mom that she proposes adopting Sam outright. Sam agrees, but you can tell she's torn. Who knew Victoria could play Voice of Wisdom on that on? We had no idea she had it in her! Plus, Skills goes on the Worst. Date. Ever., courtesy of Chuck, and Nathan gets a chance to impress an NBA scout. All that and a baby shower -- not bad!

Mia and I discuss best and worst dates, what registers on the creepy scale, what we'd do if we were stuck with Chuck, and why we felt sorry for Sam. Plus, find out what basketball jobs we'd be suited for, what really surprised us about Sam's mom, and why Mia hopes her family doesn't listen to these podcasts!

One Tree Hill: So Long Sammy

Peyton's making a video time capsule for her unborn baby on One Tree Hill...just in case. It'll go nicely with the sad box of stuff she's compiled. She tells the unfortunate possible semi-orphan-to-be about her ultimate play list -- 100 Songs to Save Your Life -- about how to pick a best friend, and about how to get a "mom and dad fix" by hanging with Nathan and Haley. Nice and really, really sweet, but a total buzz kill.

Peyton also asks the poor kid to take very special care of its father. But Lucas walks in and catches the depressing prenatal scene and he isn't having any of it. He doesn't want to do anything "just in case," and that includes rushing to get hitched.

One Tree Hill Podcast: "A Kiss to Build a Dream On"

Listen Now

It was another disconnected week on One Tree Hill. Seriously, what's it going to take to get the entire cast together in one place -- a wedding? Oh, wait...

Peyton is going stir-crazy on bed-rest, but Lucas is too busy with car repairs and flashbacks to entertain her. Meanwhile, Haley gets some good news about a song she wrote, and Nathan gets some good news about a team that wants to sign him -- in Europe. Mia is distraught to learn that her boyfriend got busy with Brooke (but who didn't) AND Peyton... but does she really have the right to get pissy about something that happened in high school? Victoria is still bonding with Sam, much to Brooke's dismay, but she makes some seriously dubious decisions. And Jamie has his first dance -- and he brings Skills as his wingman.

This episode prompts us to discuss the varieties of European basketball, ponder when it's time to stop being supportive and start being assertive, praise the use of Loverboy, disagree about Victoria (but not about who among us has greater bitch potential), determine what profession will never fit anyone in Tree Hill, and even break into song. Check it out!

One Tree Hill: Nick Lachey is Overshadowed by a Birth Mother and Europe

Nick Lachey and Haley
It seems like we’ve been waiting forever for Nick Lachey to make his One Tree Hill appearance. So he finally arrives and we get...what? Three scenes?

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Peyton is on bed rest and it's sooo dull. Just how dull? She knows that the ceiling fan does 147 rotations a minute. Meanwhile, Lucas is too busy to entertain her -- he's in the garage, attempting to revive the Comet.
