Environment green, stomach blue
A new study indicates that your reusable grocery bag, that really cool, environmentally friendly invention may not be good for your health. The study is backed by a plastics industry organization out of Canada, so that it with a grain of salt if you wish, but the doctor we talked to said the study has some validity. Here's the rub, beef and chicken drippings along with vegetable goodies can contaminate your bag. The result, high levels of bacteria and other stuff than can make your brown eyes green. Most people agree that resuable bags are great for the environment, keeping those nasty plastic bags out of landfills, and in Texas, every other tree you see. The doctor says the prescription is simple: WASH YOUR REUSABLE BAGS. Treat them like the rest or your laundry and give them a nice, soapy cycle, before your stomach starts a spin cycle all it's own.
