"Kissed With Strawberry Vinaigrette!?"

Most of us work 1pm-10pm every day. That is what is called a nightside schedule. And that means our schedule bridges dinner time. And that means someone picks up dinner. And that someone is almost always me.

So after our 5:30 meeting where we discuss very important things, such as what to lead with, how the Dallas Mayor is reacting to a hot button issue, or breaking news like a bus hijacking, we then get into an argument about what is for dinner.

Our newsroom is located in the middle of nothing delicious, by that I mean all that's around us is fast food. We normally eat at A. Sonic, B. Taco Bell or C. Whataburger. I like Sonic best because I normally get a GIANT lo-cal strawberry limeade. Not all of my co-workers' habits are so healthy :)

So yesterday Becky and Amanda decided to encourage everyone to go "green" with our eating. Meaning get a healthy salad @ Greenz in Uptown. This conversation did not bode well with everyone.

Becky: "I love their salads they are soooo good and healthy"

Assistant News Director Rob: "it says 'Kissed with strawberry vinaigrette?!' yeah I don't think so."

This conversation normally takes approximately 15 minutes depending on how hungry we are.

To conclude we split up, Becky and Amanda went to Greenz... I made a special trip all the way to the Chili's on Northwest Highway where I picked carnivorous options, hamburgers. ... And french fries. Not so healthy. But super delicious.
