The Miracle Microphone

Picture 002.jpgI was producing when the Cowboy's bubble collapsed. It was pretty wild because who would have thought that would ever happen?! Not me... But especially not Paul Riggs.

Riggs was the photographer inside the bubble when it collapsed. You've probably seen his video. He left the camera rolling the entire time he was running for his life. (You can still check it out on our website  http://tinyurl.com/r8p9qp )

Riggs has been shooting, waaay longer than I've even been in the news business and he says it is the first time he's ever had to run that fast.

AND when he was running more bad news-- he lost the microphone on his camera. The thing costs around 3 thousand dollars! Of course everyone was just glad Riggs made it out okay so no one was really upset.

The whole thing went down about a month ago....

MIRACULOUSLY! Yesterday we got a phone call from Cowboys PR. Someone digging through the Cowboy rubble found Rigg's mic! The News Director called it miracle! Riggs showed off the mic in our afternoon meeting.

And the final surprise-- He put some new batteries in it & TOUCHDOWN... (pardon the pun) the mic works!

Great Job Paul leaving the camera rolling. Sign of a true veteran. More importantly glad you didn't get hurt.
