Messy Day in Denton County

I love any day that I get to wear my rubber rain boots with dogs on them. Everyone else hates them, but that matters not. Trust me, they're great.

But what wasn't great is wading ankle high in some spots to look at the storm damage suffered by homeowners in Hebron, Flower Mound and Lewisville.

It hurts to see downed trees, some blocking driveways and lying on top of houses. People were without power into the heat of the day. One apartment complex lost part of its roof, displacing a handful of families.

Everyone we talked to was so calm about their situation, their damage firmly attached to perspective. Noone was hurt. Noone was injured. That, they told us, makes the storm tolerable.
