TCU Baseball ready for a Turf War in the Super Regional
Head coach Jim Schlossnagle gathered the team in the locker room and told them that regardless of how exciting that win over Oregon State was on Sunday night, it's over and now is not the time to reminisce.
It's time to get ready for the #1 ranked Texas Longhorns in the Super Regional in Austin which starts on Saturday at 5:00pm.
Also in the meeting he told Kyle Winkler that he would be the starting pitcher for game one and then told his men instead of practicing on Lupton Stadium, that had a few puddles from the early morning rain, they would be heading over to the football team's Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility.
The Frogs took ground balls on the field turf, which is similar to the surface at Disch-Falk Field in Austin. The Frogs are familiar with that turf after playing there during the regular season in a game the Longhorns won 6-0.
Even though TCU was shut out in that game, the Frogs feel getting familiar with the atmosphere coupled with the fact that Texas had a tough time advancing out of its own regional just feeds their confidence that the Horns are a beatable team.
The Super Regional is a best 2-out-of-3 series with the winner heading to the College World Series in Omaha.
Much more on the Frogs tonight on The 33 News
