Everybody, in the pool!

When a Brazilian study involves swimsuits, you just have to do the story. Before you get carried away, the study involved expectant mothers who took part in a water aerobics class. Scientists looked at 71 women and found that mothers to be exercised in the water reduced their need for pain killers during delivery by 65%. We talked to a pair of expectant moms who are taking a class so they won't have to use pain killers during delivery. One mom didn't exercise during her first pregnancy and she needed an epidural. The aerobics instructor says the water is a great low impact exercise that focusses on the stomach and the muscles that surround it. The stronger they are, the easier the delivery. A Baylor-Dallas OB-GYN says that 25% of her patients choose natural childbirth and water aerobics to make delivery easier. The study seems to indicate that the water is fine mom, get in the pool!
