Home sweet home

Dallas police officer Alex Garcia was stuck in Denver. Not at the airport, in a hospital. He was there during a police explorer convention when he became super dehydrated and suffered a blood clot. He was there for two weeks because the city's insurance company would not pay to have him flown home via air ambulance. A local car dealer who lives in McKinney heard about the family's plight and pulled out his credit card and booked a flight for him. It cost $7,500.00. At first it was anonymous, but everyone wanted to meet the guy who did what the insurance company wouldn't do. Today we got to meet Eugene Knies, the man with the credit card and big heart, and Eugene got to meet Alex and his wife Rosa. I'm glad I was there. Most stories are people doing people wrong stories. Everything about this story was right, except that it had to be told at all.
