When painkillers kill

Los Angeles police say they are looking into Michael Jackson's prescription drug history. Many believe his toxicology report may show a cocktail of pain medications in his system. We'll know soon. According to a study, in 2005, painkillers contributed to the deaths of more than 8,500 people. Doctors I interviewed both hoped that if painkillers had anything to do with Jackson's death, it will shine a light on what is becoming a serious problem. At Parkland Hospital, roughly 70% of emergency visits are drug related. The prescription to cure the painkiller danger? Doctor's haven't written that one yet.
