Now that's a cell phone application!

Sure, it's for doctors, but still. It's called OB Airstrip. Doctors download it, sign into a secure site and can monitor the vital signs of mothers and their child while in labor. So the doctor can be at the grocery store, movie theater or at home and check in. The mom we talked to was in labor for 14 hours, when her doctor wasn't by her bedsite, she was still being monitored, which is like being bedside. The doctor we interviewed said she spends just as much time in the room with patients, but the application just adds another layer of safety for the patient. Sounds like a good phone app to me.
