Animal Shelter Controversy
A group of citizens is calling for the end of the city of Garland's use of carbon monoxide to euthanize animals at the Garland Animal Shelter.
They say it's a cruel practice causing animals to suffer unnecessarily. They say Garland is by far the largest city in Texas still using the discredited process and it should join other shelters and euthanize by lethal injection.
The city says it will transition to the use of lethal injection in most cases by year's end.
