"Marriage penalty" for Couples?

It hasn't received much attention, but there is a proposal in the health care overhaul plan that would require married couples, who use government subsidized health insurance, pay more than singles who live together.

If you think that smacks of being unfair, you aren't alone. If the plan passes in the final version, married couples could pay thousands more for the same coverage. Some are asking will that dissuade some people from getting married? Depending on the price tag it just might in a recession.

Bottom line is that some are hoping when it comes to this proposal, lawmakers will say, "I don't".
