Give me a double shot of that stuff
This is one of review of previous study stories. Some researchers combed through 13 studies and decided that late shift workers who drink coffee are more focused, alert and make fewer mistakes than people who were caffeine free. I've worked some crazy shifts in this business and I can tell you I think the study has merit.
We interviewed a couple of nurses who had worked the overnight shift for about a decade. One drank as many as 10 cups of coffee a night and agree that she was more focused and better able to perform her duties. The other nurse said caffeine didn't do anything about at about 2 a.m. he would get sleepy.
I don't know if caffeine makes gives you focus or not but I do know that people in the newroom really focus on caffeine. You should see the breakroom about 7:30 p.m.
Give be a double shot of that stuff.
