Look mom, it looks just like candy!

And that's been a problem for a long, long time. Tobacco products that look like candy, prescription medicines that look like candy and now pediatricians are worried that nicotine replacement therapies are beginning to look way too much like candy. We compared regular chewing gum to NRT gum and could not tell the difference except inside one of them was 2 milligrams of nicotine.

Celebrity Jessica Simpson told Jay Leno that she's been hooked on nicotine gum since she was a kid. She believes a friends mom thought she was giving her a regular piece of chewing gum but it wasn't. During and eleven year period ending in 2007, more than 9,000 kids were exposed to NRT and five of them died. If it's as simple as making potentially dangerous products that don't look or taste like candy and it will save lives then maybe we should just make them to look and taste like--medicine.

Call me crazy.
