Rumbling stumbling and bumbling..

The landscape of college football is changing and I think it's great--if-- somehow all of this leads to playoff system. I love the passion of college football but I simply don't like the way the national champion is chosen. And I do mean chosen. Coaches polls, strength of schedule and computers..please. Name one other sport that doesn't have it's champion crowned by surviving a playoff system.

I love the idea of a Pac 16 with Texas and the rest of the gang out west. A few super conferences may help pave the way for an eventual playoff system. I'm also big on history and don't think the bowl games would have to disappear in exchange for a playoff structure.

I have a hard time getting too involved in college football when every year there are so many questions and complaints about who should have been the national champion.

Look, the people at the NCAA and the universities are smart people but college football without a playoff system is just plain dumb. Until then, I'll waste my free time on the NFL.
