Sleep and Sex

Do I have your attention? Well, the above pair don't always make the best of bed fellows.

Tonight on the tube I outlined the threat sleep deprivation poses to people's sex lives. It isn't pretty.

Now as promised on said tube, some pointers. Dr. Craig Schwimmer of The Snoring Center in Dallas tells us this: (Well, the first one is for me).

*Avoid caffeine and alcohol close to bedtime. (I am Diet Coke addict.)

*Get enough sleep. That's 8 hours.

*Only use the bed for sleep and sex.

*See sunlight every morning to reset your circadian rhythm.

*Treat your snoring and sleep apnea!

The procedure we watched Dr. Schwimmer do today took just a few minutes. He called in "non-destructive", using a needle for the incision instead of a knife or laser. First, John Dontle got a shot to numb the roof of his mouth. During the procedure, he didn't cry or grimace and was talking and drinking shortly after. Impressive.

Sleep (and romance) well, viewers!
