Mass Swine Flu Vaccination Underway in Dallas
Residents lined up as early as 4 a.m., but everyone we spoke with said the process of getting their vaccines went smoothly.
The clinic is intended for Dallas County residents and targeted demographics, such as pregnant women, low-income or uninsured residents and those with medical conditions such as asthma or diabetes.
County residency will be the most strictly enforced part of screening, said Zachary Thompson, Dallas County Health and Human Services director.
"We're on the honor system," Thompson said about the other qualifications.
The clinic will be open until 4 p.m. today. It will open again tomorrow and possibly Friday, depending on how fast the county burns through its 10,700 doses.
Park Has Flooding Issues
It's not a bad place to build a park if you don't mind the occasional flooding. Located off Sylvan Avenue on the Elm Fork of the Trinity, west of downtown you'll find Trinity Park. It's built around a small lake named after Dallas real estate mogul Trammell Crow who donated the park's unique marble cow sculptors. The cow art was designed by Harold Clayton in 1985 and from a distance they look real.
The park also has facilities for football, soccer, hiking, running, boating and fishing. What's incredibly to me, is whenever the Trinity gets above flood stage the park is submerged under several feet of mud and water. It's happened four times this month alone. When it drys out the city sends crews to clean it up so it can be reopened. It seems like a lot of work and frankly we saw few if anyone enjoying the park when we visited recently.
I wonder how much time and resources go into maintaining the park and if anyone ever thought this a bad idea?

On The Edge
What do you think? Should they be left to deal with the damage or does the city have some responsibility?
Airport Surveillance
DFW and Love Field will get a combined 10 million for closed-circuit television cameras and recording devices. While both airports already had some surveillance the additional equipment will be a major step up.
DFW says it's already purchased most of it's new equipment while Dallas Love is still waiting for it's new upgrades.
ROAD FUNDS SPEED AWAY
California was at the top of the list loosing $800 (m) followed by Texas with $740 (m). TXDOT says it will impact future projects but unlike some states we didn't run out and spend all that loot, only about $100(m). Here's the breakdown by Metros in Texas.

Ford Phenom from Dallas redesigns Taurus
It all started with a sketch pad and some pencils. Dallas native Earl Lucas loved to draw, doodle and design since he could walk. Lucas attended the Arts Magnet High School Booker T. Washington in Dallas. Then, he went to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.
When he graduated from college, he knew he wanted to draw and get paid for it. His first big, cool gig was designing custom interiors for the private jets owned by the Sultan of Brunei. He got to design with gold and high end wood and metal materials, spare no expense. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! HOW COOL IS THAT?
But, THAT was only the beginning for Lucas. In 1998, he went to Ford Motor Company to design stuff for cars. Now, in 2009 he is the guy that totally redesigned the struggling Ford Taurus. Lucas sexed it up, put in some aggressive lines, gave it a confident front end and upgraded the look and feel of the interior. The new 2010 Ford Taurus will be in show rooms soon and the pencil behind the production was from Lucas and his team.
Not bad for a guy who like to sketch at Booker T. Washington High School. Designing jet interiors for the Sultan of Brunei was pretty cool too.
