As the wildfires continue to burn across California dozens of states are lending a hand to help, but not Texas. That's because Texas is no better off according to the Texas Forest Service in Granbury.
Conditions are so bad firefighters and equipment from twenty-nine states have responded to Texas since July.
I'm told when manpower gets low an agency in Boise, Idaho helps to coordinate national resources for states hard hit by wildfires.
Coincidentally volunteers from California had been helping in Texas earlier this summer, but now it their turn.
Thousands of firefighters from around the nation have responded to the Golden State, including another 2600 trained prison inmates.
Once the flames are doused, it's onto the next wildfire, no matter where it is, such is the life of a smoke-jumper.
