Dog Rescue

A rescue group near Houston traveled to the metroplex today to rescue several dogs that were set to be euthanized this week. The Arlington Animal Services is overwhelmed with mostly dogs because folks are dropping them off due to the down economy. But when the shelter runs out of room the dogs are placed on a euthanasia list. What do you think? The story will air tonight at 9.

Corruption Scandal

Went to federal court today to cover the Dallas City Hall Corruption trial day one... a lot of waiting around only to be kicked out of the courtroom. It seems there were a lot of jurors - there wasn't enough room in the courtroom for folks such as the media or sketch artists. So needless to say that makes it a bit more challenging getting the story.

Covering a case in federal court

What won't be reported... trying to get all of my stuff through the metal detectors at the courthouse. Well, it doesn't always work. They made me dump my water. No biggie but not my water sack! It keeps water cool all day long. I was able to get my breast pump in and my cooler for that. It's always a challenge... pumping on the go but it's gotta be done. Any new moms out there? What do you think?

How hot was it?

When you keep drinking fluids and you don't need a potty break... it's plenty hot. That means you're just sweating buckets. That's what we were doing this afternoon while covering our story. And we really shouldn't complain. It's not like were up on a roof somewhere fixing someone's roof. Now that's a hot job!
