Is the rain finally gone?
Storms hit once again overnight and early this morning. Even this afternoon, we're still seeing a few showers, but by late this afternoon, we should start to see some sunshine! Expect sunny skies Thursday and Friday with highs in the low 90s...but with all the rain we've seen lately, it's going to feel pretty humid.
How are we doing on rainfall this year? We've seen 13.54 inches of rain since Jan 1. "Normal" by this time is 11.30" , so we're officially 2.24 inches above normal. That only tells part of the story, though. Since March 1, 12.00 inches of rain fell...that's most of the rain for the year, and 4.97 inches more than average.
May is typically the wettest month of the year, with an average of 5.15 inches...and yeah, there are a few showers back in the forecast for the weekend.

Gosh, it was great to hear you were back, our best TV Personality ever. And, of course, now we can get the weather CORRECTLY!
We have not watched Channel 5 since the, the ...royal 'screw-up', but found a new TV HOME!
WELCOME BACK BECKY... WE ALL MISSED YOU!!!!
Greg & Barb
Thanks for the best weather report (no hype). You go girl.
Becky, Just a quick note of 'Congrats" on returning to the local television scene. We truly miss you on the "other" TV station and still cannot believe that they got rid of you for the "face" from The Weather Channel but since your departure we DO NOT watch the morning telecast anymore on that channel..CBS 11 with Scott & Ginger is now our morning news for Dallas/Fort Worth. Really miss the interaction between you & Tammy in the morning but oh well...their loss is Channel 33's gain...Good luck and will be watching for your weather forecast...Jim & Paula..Your friends in Roanoke, TX always !!
Hello, Rebecca!
I watched you on NBC-5 during your entire time there and have missed you. Thank Dave Faries over at City of Ate for the heads' up on your new gig.
Just for the record, you are the only local meteorologist that I have ever trusted to truly explain our wacky North Texas weather.
Welcome back -- we'll be watching!
