Snow for the ages!
Many of us didn't live here the last time it snowed like this...it was 1978 when 13.5 inches of snow fell in February. However, we set many records with our snow yesterday and this morning: 11.2 inches fell yesterday at DFW airport: a record for Feb 11. But the snow fell from 4am Thursday until 4am Friday...a total of 12.5 inches, which is a new record for 24 hour snowfall. This has been the 2nd snowiest February on record, and with the snow we saw in December and January, we've had a total of 15.7 inches of snow this winter season...the 2nd snowiest season EVER. It's still winter...still time to break that record and set a new one. Where's that GroundHog, anyway? I'm ready for spring! Wait...spring brings severe weather...I'm ready for SUMMER!

Nice week ahead, weatherwise!
It was great to see the sunshine today. Get out and enjoy it for the next three days: a new study from Warwick Medical School says increased levels of Vitamin D halve your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer.

Ready for More Winter Weather?
I'm so tired of winter and snow. So far this winter, we've received 15.7" inches of snow, only 1.9" from the all-time record set in the winter of 1977-78.
We're under winter weather advisories from 3am until 9pm Tuesday. A band of very light snow will travel across the Red River counties overnight tonight, but the core of the storm system heads southward from New Mexico into West Texas, then swings across the central part of our state. What does that mean for snow totals?
The highest snowfall will be near Stephenville-Waco where 4-6 inches are possible. The further north you go, the lesser amounts of snow will fall. In Dallas-Tarrant-Denton-Collin counties, less than 1 inch of snow is expected. Johnson-Ellis-Hood-Somervell counties could see 2-4 inches of snow.
It won't be a repeat of the massive snows we had on the 11-12, thank goodness! We will continue to monitor the situation and have updates at 5:30pm and 9pm on Ch 33...and of course first thing in the morning on 99.5 The Wolf!!
