Joe DeCamillis brings intenstity and inspiration to Camp
Joe DeCamillis is still wearing his neck brace as a result of the injuries sustained in the collapse of the Cowboys indoor practice facility and Wade Phillips knows the players notice the kind of effort that's coming their special teams coach.
"He's a tough son of a gun" said the Cowboys head coach. "It takes toughness to do your job sometimes and this shows the players that this guy is working hard" Wade hopes it will toughen up his team to not complain about the nicks and soreness that will start popping up later this week. "Don't cry to me about feeling tired today" Phillips advises.
If anyone should feel tired, it should be DeCamillis. He has to sleep in an upright position with the neck brace, his bed is made up of a high backed chair. When two-a-day practices begin tomorrow, Joe will be among the first on the field at 8:50am. "We have changed practice, special teams will be the first emphasis of practice, that will start of practice with a lot of enthusiasm" Phillips said.
Just as advertised, the very of first practice kicked off at 2:15pm today...with special teams.
