Rangers Pitcher Vicente Padilla has Swine Flu

padilla.jpgThe Rangers have confirmed tonight that starting pitcher Vicente Padilla has the H1N1 virus, commonly known as Swine Flu.   He was away from the team while contagious but rejoined the club in Kansas City tonight.

Rangers blogger T.R. Sullivan says in his MLBlog, just to be safe, the Ranger sent him back to the hotel rather than have him sit in the dugout.

Several other Rangers players have been dealing with the Flu this week but so far, Padilla is the only one who has tested positive for H1N1.

Padilla is expected to take the mound on his next scheduled start, Tuesday night against the Tigers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The Rangers started a three game series against the Royals in Kansas City tonight and we'll have the highlights on The 33 News at 9:00pm
