Cowboys linemen throw down during 11th practice of Camp

It took 11 practices to see the first fight of Training Camp and it was between, who else, the linemen.   After Bobby Carpenter intercepted Tony Romo's pass and took off the other way,  defensive lineman Jay Ratliff delivered a crack back hit on offensive lineman Marc Columbo, knocking him to the ground, then the fists started flying.

fight.jpgWade Phillips looked into the skirmish and was surprised that linebacker Keith Brooking wasn't involved.  "I thought Brooking really (would be the first to fight), because I've been around Keith and he's normally the first guy to get into a fight so I'm glad he didn't." Phillips said.

He wasn't surprised that the first skirmish came a week into workouts. "Yeah, I think the more you get into it, the edgier you get when things happen.  The players are fine, it's a thing that happens in football" Phillips said.

The coach wouldn't be surprised if he didn't see another scuffle tomorrow "Like I said yesterday, the grind is going to set in" said Phillips.  "I think tomorrow's double day is going to be a test for them, because we had a good practice today and we did some running after practice so we'll see how they come back tomorrow."

You'll see the video of the first fight of camp tonight on The 33 News at 9:00pm
